Well, the 49ers (4-5, 3-2), coached by ex-Herd assistant, Brad Lambert rolled into Hattiesburg to claim their 3rd CUSA road victory in their last four games by the score of 38-27. I watched the game--it was not that close as the 49ers dominated from the second quarter.
Charlotte's rise to relevance in CUSA is a much shorter trip than just about anyone could have expected. Charlotte thumped one of the league's traditional powers, So. Miss, sending their fans home early during the 3rd quarter.
Kalif Phillips (ex-wvu player) led the way with 29 carries for 183 yards. The Golden Eagles led 14-7 after the first quarter, but Charlotte took control with a dominant second period, to lead at halftime, 28-14.
UNC-Concord needs only 2 wins to become Bowl eligible in its second year in CUSA & Div. 1 football. Rice travels to Charlotte, Saturday--a winnable game for the 49ers. Charlotte will host a banged up MTSU team Nov. 19---- losers at home Saturday to Texas-San Antonio, 45-25. Charlotte closes out their season @ Texas-San Antonia.
This is unbelievable.
Marshall (2-7, 6th in CUSA-East) continued their losing ways with a first time loss [ever] at Old Dominion......for the Love of John Marshall. MTSU crawls into The Joan, Saturday @ 7:00 pm.
Wonder what our crowd will look like?
Phil R. is looking down from Heaven and saying....WTHeck is going on @ Marshall and at my adopted Charlotte team?
Phil, we are wondering the same thing!
