i usually enjoy watching these, regardless of who is in the WH because the jokes are normally pretty good. but this was just lazy - even lazier writing than bill maher's show.

They were not even funny and you could never come back at the comedian woman because she is black. They would label you as racist.
Well, he is one of the six or seven people on the planet that finds Kathy Griffin to be humorous, and possibly the only person that finds her to be smoking hot.
For example, if I was there I would have stood up and said ohhh yehhh comedian lady? You look and sound like Aunt Jemima was inhaling helium balloons. Somebody pass her the chitlins.

two things. what's the benefit of him attending this dinner? if anything, by him not showing up the media gets to listen to someone in their echo chamber. otherwise, you'll get rich little every year and nobody wants that.
and second, the last time trump was at this dinner, he got made fun of and a lot of people say it's what drove him to seek the presidency and now he's one of the most powerful men in the world. you really want to tempt fate again and see how much more powerful Palpatine can become?

The purpose is to show respect and thank the media who cover the political world. In modern times, all presidents have attended to give thanks and speak at the dinner. All presidents have also been the target of frequent jokes at this event. Just because cheeto's ego doesn't allow him to have any humor isn't an excuse.
Really, have you heard cheeto trying to make jokes? He sounds like Gary'S weeney. He isn't funny and has horrendous people skills.

He's "at war" with the media due to his choosing. Other presidents have faced the same. The dinner isn't just for liberal media. It also has Fox News and all of the other morons there.
Face it, he's a coward who wants to control who gets the microphone and what is said on the microphone. When he can't control every little aspect, he takes his ball and goes home (or fires whomever won't do every single thing he wants).
i actually don't think he has the comedic timing to pull this dinner off. to make matters worse, there is simply no way the media would laugh at his barbs - i think the jokes would be quality, president's don't write their own material, but the media despises him. it's hard to do comedy to a resentful crowd, let alone in a large room. and let's be honest, there's never been respect between the two. the honeymoon between them isn't over because there was never a marriage. even though comey's been exposed as a liar, i do believe him when he says he's never seen Trump laugh.
