But its for my precious mother. Mom can't get out of bed. She has a bag for the urine but has to mess in the bed. This is harder for her than us. She doesn't want Hospice. She wants home health care. Mom wants to get better and live. They came yesterday to evaluate her for home health. They will work along side hospice. Mom has COPD and is on oxygen. She is getting stronger. She can hold a Pepsi in her hands now. We have to give her a breathing treatment every 4 hrs so we have to work in shifts at night. My mom is my wives best friend and I love her more than ever so this is Not as hard as everyone telling me I'm up to my neck in work. Hopefully God has me where he wants me. Had to put a A/C in at midnight the first night. The 2 breathing machines really put off the heat. The terminology I'm not sure of. In the hospital she was getting 15 something of oxygen. They can't transport you no higher than 10. So they dropped her to 10 and her numbers went higher in the low 90's. So we got her here and its set on 10. Anybody know about these numbers? Mom has a Sharpe mind. Secretary for the county attorney here when younger and unlike me could type 100 words a minute and loves shorthand. It makes it easier because she is very very alert. She has a 6.7 centimeter Anyerism in her stomach. To big to operate. Has a second smaller one on her aorta. Oh yea a cracked vertebra which complicates moving around in the bed. She wants us to find a Dr who would operate on her Anyerisms. Is this possible?

If you have a Anyerism in your stomach and your stomach is swelled. Is that blood or water or both? I thought it was fluid. I didn't even know the Anyerism was leaking. My sister told me that this morning. That couldn't be all blood. She looks 3 months pregnant. I believe its all fluid. If her Anyerism is leaking then it will bust. It will be a quick death.

Sisters - I would suggest you write down these questions and ask them to her primary care provider or the hospice nurse.

Even as a physician it’s nearky impossible to answer your questions without knowing her history and situation.

You can reassure your mother that Hospice is just another layer of care. There are patients who get discharged from Hospice for improving.

On the other hand, you need to know that some Hospice companies will prefer few (if any) continued therapies which they would consider "aggressive."

Its blood from a leaking Anyerism. Hard to sit here and watch her die as she swells in her stomach. 45 years of smoking. No trips to the Dr since they said she had copd . Her mother died of an Anyerism. A cracked vertebrae compounds her problems of moving. Hospice did set up a call from my brother in prison. He heads to Lagrange now
