…..up 42-20 in the middle of the 3rd w/ the ball. Putting their boot on their opponents throat and pushing. Also - home field matters in these type of games….

How in the world can you pass for 577 yards, score 41 points and come that close to winning a conference championship, and have -9 yards rushing? Amazing.

Yea, they also lose Malone (feels like he’s been there forever) and 2/3 of their leading receivers
When you throw the ball every down--that's how. It also helps when you run good plays and have players who can catch the ball.
That game last year was one of the worst I have ever seen a Marshall team play. Ranks up their with the Cincy game a few years ago. Yuck!
I would argue we haven’t had a home field advantage for the past 3 seasons or so because we can’t draw enough fans to make a difference. When there is 28k+ at the Joan there is an advantage. It gets pretty loud.
We’ve seen our home winning percentage drop from something close to 90% down to 81%.
It paid off enough to WIN enough to become USA-Conference Eastern Division champs and almost the conference champs. WKU should do really well in the MAC.
Are we happy with ALMOST winning the conference?

You absolutely have to use the portal to fill gaps and compete these days. But to sell out your whole offense for one year players and not get a title out of it ? That’s no way to build a program.
Once the move takes place, WKU will have spent less time in CUSA than we did, and in most sports, compiled better records and more championships. Western has won 32 championships in 9 different sports. Far better than our record.
