Anyone else think -2.5 is a weird spread? If it was -4 I would like it a lot better with my confidence in this game. If it was a pickem I think Vegas likes MTSU. -2.5- whats the point of that? It's less than a FG.

Get ya herd on

I would say it has more to do with Marshall's weak schedule compared to MT's tougher one. Vanderbilt, Syracuse, Minnesota, FAU, Bowling Green, FIU, UAB vs NC State, Cincinnati, Kent State, Charlotte, Old Dominion, MIami (Ohio).

You guys have the looks of a paper tiger. FWIW I think you guys beat us. Our QB will throw minimum three picks and that will be the game.

No offense dude but you got blown out of vandy and minn, lost to fau and uab.......not sure where the confidence is flying from for that kinda statement

I don't entirely disagree with you, but come on man, that's a pretty hot take on the heels of a loss to a team that didn't exist last year when MTSU got blown out by the worst Marshall team in forty years.

You keep feeding that negative karma, Stockstill's never going to get healthy.

Having a tough schedule really doesn't matter if you can't beat the teams on it. Unless you're into moral victories.

I actually thought the line was about right when I read it, I guessed -3 before I saw the Vegas line... -2.5 based on several factors... It's a short week, on the road, against a team basically playing for its season. At 3-4, MTSU is nearing must-win territory in terms of making a bowl game and I would assume they will be fired up to play us. Hopefully our guys can match that level of excitement.

If you guys had our schedule, I think you guys would have gotten blown out by Vandy and Minnesota, lose to FAU as well as not beaten Syracuse like we did. I think you guys would have won against Bowling Green and FIU (like us) and beaten UAB (we didn't). I think you guys beat us by 10 points or so, however, your record is only good because of the incredibly weak schedule you've played so far. You would most likely be 3-4 with our schedule, just like us but without the high profile Syracuse win. Stockstill has only played the first two games this season, obviously we are a different team without him.

Based on what?? I am not arguing your predicting us to beat you. You make way too many assumptions based on nothing............I don't care who you play, shutting someone out, ranking high in scoring D accounts for something. We have several redshirt freshman along the offensive line, one of the worst positions to have redshirt freshman's play. We didn't have arguably our best LB until Charlotte. We have an offense still finding its way, yet we still sit at 5-1. I don't want to hear this paper tiger BS or how we might have lost to vandy, minn, Syracuse. We may have, we may not have, you don't know, and I don't know. What I do know is we played a tough team competitively at their place in Raleigh, who also sits at 6-1. Every team we play is a D1 team. We beat ODU as much as anyone else, we lost to NC state about the same as Louisville, what does all that mean at the end of the day? Nothing, every matchup, every game is going to be different.

We beat Syracuse who beat Clemson. You guys loss to NC State. Why are you so proud of that loss? Every team we have played has been D1 and is better as a whole than the group you guys played. I am just trying to explain why the line may be close. Big difference in teams we've played vs the teams you guys played. Vegas obviously thinks so too.

With all due respect... Since we are speculating on theoretical games, which is ridiculous... We would not get blown out by Vandy (we havent been blown out all season). Also, Syracuse only beat Clemson because the best player on their team, who plays by far the most important position, was injured early and they turned to a kid who was clearly in over his head. And visa-vie since you guys beat Syracuse, and you are not any better than we are, in the world of comparative nonsense games we would probably beat Syracuse as well... With our schedule we are 5-1. With you guys schedule I think we would be 4-3 at worst, probably 5-2.

Be careful what you type out, mlblack16 (with a period). 86% of this forums posters are still celebrating a 17 point loss to NC State.

And when Coach Turdbaugh and his maize and blue suffer the same fate against the Buckeyes will you be similarly celebrating, Dreh???

Doubt it.

What's your explanation for the line being so close when you guys have a 5-1 record and we have a losing record with many injuries and lacking our star QB?

Do you understand betting at all? It’s not hard to research and see results of the last two times we played there. The line is about right given that. As far as NC state, no one is proud of that loss, the only thing I said is UL didn’t fare any better. That’s just like you assuming any other CUSA team playing minn or vandy wouldn’t have a shot in the dark since you were blown out of both. Have you checked their standings lately? Yeah all middling teams at present. Just stop the BS. We may very well lose tonight, what’s your excuse going to be if you lose badly?

So vegas bases the line completely on past results??? O.K.. Chief... You guys are a paper tiger and Vegas knows it. 5-1 record and only favored by 1.5 points at this point.

How far has this conferences fallen, that Syracuse is now considered a "high profile" win???

If you guys had our schedule, I think you guys would have gotten blown out by Vandy and Minnesota, lose to FAU as well as not beaten Syracuse like we did. .

What rationale do you have to support that Vandy and Minnesota would have "blown us out"? Vandy has one FBS win other than MTSU, and Minnesota hasn't won a single game since they beat you.

I may not understand Vegas, but I have always thought Vegas does enough research to set an initial line, but after that the line moves up or down PURELY on the bets being placed. They could care less about the teams, they just want to make money. People who put a lot of stock into how well their team should play based on the spread are not basing their opinions on facts.

It should be a good game but I think we end up with a 3 or more score victory. A healthy Stockstill would make it close but without him I dont think it ends up that way.
