Visiting Marching Bands

It was good under Lemke! Very entertaining. Big 10 style marching, not corps-style that is current.

I don’t ever remember a Marshall band marching in the distinctive Big 10 style. I’ve seen every MU band since the late 50’s.

I still haven't seen the "Marching" Thunder do any marching this year. All I saw them do was run onto the field from 4 corners and then stand there and toot.

I will say that, sitting in the East stands at the Shewey-side 40 yd line, I had a hard time hearing them in the 1st half. They would be much more effective in the West-side bowl corner. Cincy’s band was top/notch, very respectful of our kids. They, being just a little less than opposite where I was seated, sounded loud & proud.....

Well Insider what can we expect when our band (for whatever reason) runs onto the field from the four corners of the stadium. Not to be Asian prejudiced but the band looks like a Chinese fire drill - or, as we used to say in the army, a cluster f _ _ k! The band looks totally disorganized but hey, that’s just me and I appreciate our band and stay in at the half but no more.

Putting a good MARCHING BAND on a field is a art in its self.. drum and bugle type competitions are the best of the best, all star players all in one band and they know exactly what they are doing.. we need a marching band not a competition band that’s trying to put on a show...! It’s simple, lineup at top of ramp, start playing a march, come down ramp and straight in to the end zone while playing, do maybe a 8/5 March on to the field and blow the hell out of the damn brass, keep playing march off the field and into ur seat...!
