After the former Flagship continues it's descent into the bottom of the Big 12 again I have a feeling that sooner than later many of the blue and gold loyalist will "in the quiet of the night," change into kelly green. Better to wear the color of a champion than the color of a perennial doormat.

Yep, they really only have two options. They can either remain WVU fans and begin every conversation with, "But Marshall has a low strength of schedule," or they can quietly convert to wearing the Kelly Green. What they cannot do is become competitive.

Ears headed for 5th, 6th, or 7th place finish...depending on Texas, T-Tech, and K-State. Lose all of those 3 and finish 8th. Don't look for them to lose all 3 but crazy things happen in college football

so when you guys were having one of your many looooong stretches of bad years, you started wearing blue and gold? I don't think so..........You root and support where your heart is whether it be Marshall or WVU. WVU has never picked up any large allegiance of former Marshall fans when the Herd was down and neither will Marshall now. C'mon .......wishful thinking

Obviously I am not talking about fans like you Oak, I am talking about many of the fans in the state who ride the fence. People who went to neither school who enjoy football. Pretend it wont happen but it will, mark it down. At some point the allure of playing Texas and Oklahoma will wear off. Then all you have left is your record. People love a winner. Marshall will be playing for conference titles and having Top 25 finishes. The eers will be fighting for another 7-5 season. Your mantra of we play a hard schedule will not appeal to people forever.

Bandwagon fans jump ship as soon as they hit rough water. Ears' bandwagon has been getting lighter for some time now...plenty seats available on that ride with few takers. Walmartz to outfit the late-comers to The New Flagship...and don't forget to get a black t-shirt for our Nov. 14 Blackout game vs FIU as we honor the memory of the victims of the crash.
