No doubt they have. I’d be disappointed as well. Those same boosters should be realistic and know, WVU can’t compete year in year out with a lot of B12 schools. Although with the big 2 leaving,

Oklahoma leaving, yes, it will be much easier. Texas, no. They are 5-5 v. Texas since joining the Big 12. They’d be much better off with Texas staying and Oklahoma St. leaving. They are 2-8 v. Ok. St.

WVU in the future: The leftover Little 8 plus 4 G5 league is exactly like the various versions of the eastern mid-major leagues WVU was in before becoming one of the Little 8. Spamites will react to what happens in it in the same manner as they did back then. Idiotic arguments that some how these teams are the equivalent of what goes on in true major conferences.
Shepherd: The old WVIAC schools (Shepherd finally bought a map and joined a small college conference based in Pennsylvania) are not even good DII programs. They have always just been a bunch of future phys ed teachers who couldn’t get a sniff at even a MACer or a better DII league, playing before no one in fields that were not as good as their HS’s, for nothing. These programs have always been irrelevant, and always will be irrelevant. No one cares.
Further, to be blunt about it, Lou Holtz said “in picking a college, you can make a four year mistake, or a forty year mistake”. I believe that. For a WV kid, attending any public WV college besides MU or WVU is a forty year mistake.

Wvu is a glorified mid major. They can beat their chest all they want and tell us how great they are. But the simple fact of the matter is they haven't won a national championship in the top 6 sports in the US EVER.
