Wells/Zban

You guys are delusional, no other QB on the roster is better then Grant. He is not the problem as much as the defense (couldn’t figure out the middle run all game till end.) Coaching is suspect, play calling is predictable. is He great, no. Does he suck. No. Won today, yes.

Offense can’t score for shit and you blame a defense that’s bowed up last game and a half, FFs

Point blank Wells does not have the mental maturity to shift past his primary receiver. No feel for the defense. Makes a decision and cannot see past his own tunnel vision.

Same as our coach’s tunnel vision on Wells and not developing back up QBs. If Wells is injured season over. Press conference disappointing as we should not be happy to beat a team that cannot win in conference since 2018.

I don’t blame coaching, we saw this with Grant last year. The fact that he’s the only QB on the roster is not Huffs fault it’s Doc’s. Doc is the one who didn’t just leave the cupboard bare, he tore it off the wall.
Huff isn’t going to come out and say “yeah Grant isn’t getting it done” if he knows Zban isn’t the answer either. I wouldn’t expect Zban to be able read the defense any better than Wells. And wells can make a few good throws (the throw in OT)

but, with that being said I would welcome
Giving Zban a chance. Wells isn’t the answer and that’s very very clear.

He is Better then Zaban or Zaban would be playing. Grant sucks (yawn) even though he through 2 td’s in his last 3 plays. One with 33 seconds left. Another to win the game. Skip past those, he can’t read defenses say the couchQB’s. Locks on receivers he probably kicks his dog.

you forgot leads the nation in turnovers. That seems bad. Is that bad? He also regularly made terrible throws and reads today which is why we needed to go to OT with a bad team and a bad defense.

he got extremely lucky on the Hail Mary with 33 seconds left. He made a really good throw in OT

He also leads the NATION in interceptions! Being number one must mean he’s incredible!

He leads the nation in turnovers... And almost none of those have been brilliant defensive plays. He throws into double and triple coverage because he cant/doesn't read a defense.

Is that a coaching issue, or a QB issue?... I don't know but it is most certainly an issue.
It is a coaching issue if you can’t change his playing. If he doesn’t change you make a change to a new QB.

Still doesn’t mean that Wells is not a bad QB

If Wells is your guy, or you know his dad, or you bought his jersey, or whatever, it's cool.

But you are starting to sound like Sam when he is trying to tell us CUSA is good football. It's not.

Watch the games, Wells has been bad the past three games with a sudden flash of brilliance for 2 mins at the end of the game today.

None of us want him to play poorly, we would all love to see 350 yards a couple scores,no turnovers, and 30+ points on the board. Put the kid on a Wheeties box... But you can't reasonably watch today's game and think he played well.

He is a young man doing the best he can. He will start every game this year if healthy and I predict next year as well. carry on haters.

I don't see practice so don't know if anyone else is close. But I certainly would like to see if someone can do better. Yes we won. And I see the effort from all the players every game. Def certainly showed some progress this week. especially in the secondary. Have not seen any progress in the Off. Dropped balls when hit in the hands, bad throws for anything farther than 10-12 yards. this is outside the first long pass(brought back by a flag) and the last long pass by Wells.

If the rest of the QBs can't beat out wells, we are really deficient in that position IMO based on game play.

People calling for Zban clearly have forgotten the INT he threw against NCC. There is a wide gap between our #1 and #2 QB right now.

Maybe Harrison, Zamora, or Pennington can push Grant next year, but if we switch to Zban we've pretty much given up on the season.

I’m not sure Zban is the answer, I’m not in practice. But to rule a kid out because of a throw in garbage time while ignoring the horrible throws our starter makes every week is just ridiculous.

I just pointed to the most recent action. He's not as good as everyone thinks he is. If he was remotely what fans desperately want him to be he'd be playing.

If you listened closely, the announcer during the NCCU game mentioned that the staff likes Fancher, but they don't want to burn his red shirt. He's played in one of the four games available to him. I would not be surprised if you see him on the field down the stretch, if needed.

We definitely need to run the ball more, rotation at running backs and get the D drawn in so Grants passing will become easier... and a lot of his throws hit our receivers hands but they act like he threw it to hard and they drop it...

play calling needs to be better, game management needs to be come better, special teams needs to be better, D isn’t bad but just get better conditioned, receiving needs to be better and QB reads need to be better...

Oklahoma was down to Texas 7-28. What does the coach do? Benches the starting QB. What a concept. The only reason I would like to see Huff bench Wells when he’s not playing good is to wake his ass up. Wells has all the potential in the world to be what he was at the start of last season. But to me, he’s just out there going through the motions. No spark or leadership from him when we needed it the most.
