He needed benched tonight for sure.
It’s literally the same thing every game, he makes some great throws and runs and shows the athleticism but every game he makes baffling throws that the only person who could get it is the opponent. That last pick was God awful. The Marshall receiver has zero chance to catch it. The only person that could catch it was the MTSU guy. I don’t know if it’s coaching or what but his mental aspect of the game is killing us.
Even with 4 fumbles one going back for their only 2nd half TD and an interception we were back in the game. We were inside their 35 with over 6 minutes. We score there and it’s a 6 point game with over 4 minutes and us with all our time outs. That pick was just crushing !

He just consistently pre-determines his throws. There’s no confidence to go through progressions. He has an extremely hard time reading defenses, so he gets confused easily. It’s about run it’s course. Thank goodness we have 3 highly touted QBs coming in next year
They changed their game plan in the second half and were more conservative. That helped our defense.
But they were running it down our throat in the first half and they didn’t in the second. Our guys were actually tackling.
Pleased with the D in the second half. Much more aggressive up front. And yes they didn’t pass as much but we cleaned up the missed tackles and over-pursuit. The offense has to be just pissing them off
This is absolutely spot on... That last Int was a read a middle school qb should be able to make. He had decided pre snap where that ball was going and that's where he threw it (directly into triple coverage).
Another game with big yardage, few TD’s, and costly picks for him. It’s a cycle that’s been on repeat the last 9 games.
Makes you wonder how little depth at qb we actually have
Obviously the coaches believe in Wells (I'm sure he looks like Dan Marino in practice against our DBs)... But what would it hurt to give Zban a drive every now and again? He is a good runner if nothing else.
At this point, we ain't winning the league and we will be lucky to get to 6 or 7 wins and a bowl game. Might as well try some shit and see if anything works.
I get it that Wells is a local guy and he looks the part with his rocket arm but when defenses adjusted our offense didn’t(and Wells). At this point Wells is still learning and adjusting. The real question is does the light bulb finally come on for him.

I won't defend his entire game, but the last INT wasn't all on him. Receiver ran a stop-and-go-stop-and-go. A stop-and-go is already a hard pass to time up because of the pause by the receiver, but I don't know how you can hold Wells responsible for the second stop. If the receiver had continued to run, he would have been battling for that ball.
Wells does make mistakes but the defense needs to pick up there end. Offense putting up numbers
The defense gave up 0 points in the second half. The offense gave them their only second half score.
Arm is not the issue. He has plenty of arm
