What do old people drive now?

I just think they grin and bear it, the discomfort of riding in these newer cars. These things ride about like an aluminum bass boat on Lake Erie in a tornado. Stiff, hard. The seats are hard. It's not so much my knees that kill me anymore as much as my back and neck. The stiff seats and jarring ride.

The big problem? There is nothing to buy to get around this. All the cars are like this now. Even the trucks ride rougher. The '04 I drove with the state road was like a Cadillac...an '04 Cadillac. Now, at least the '13s? Buckin' broncos.

And why buy a Cadillac or Buick now when they have exactly the same motor as an Impala? It's just an Impala with a $20,000 computer in it and some fancier fake wood.

The real value in Cadillac now is the CTS. Drives better than a BMW.

I don't know. Most of the old people here still drive Buicks and Caddies, and some Lexus'es. A lot of Mercedes drivers here, too. My mom drives a Nissan Versa, because she she feels more comfortable in a small car. She is short and small. It is some weird model of those, the damn thing is loaded, I have never seen another one like her's.

The real Chevy buy right now is the SS Sedan. It is a RWD rocket. Chevy is having trouble selling them, I was bullshitting with the local dealer and he said he would sell me one for $39k.

SS Sedan looks nice. I've also looked at some of the new Caprices on autotrader. You can find a few of them out there, although they're mostly for the police.

Maybe next time around, I'll consider it. For all the complaining I do about my car, I've driven it 40,000 miles already in just over a year and a half. Every weekend, I still go somewhere even if it's not the mountains. Sometimes during the week, I just take evening joyrides around here.

We may not have the majestic mountains, but we've got some nice highways and if you go far enough out it's wide open farmland with nobody else around.

Are you tall? I'm 6'2" and a lot of the newer cars feel roomier to me than my beater Town Car. I can't fully extend my legs in that mother. Which drives me nuts, because I know there's room to spare.

Man up and buy a Challenger. You'll enjoy your road trips a lot more. They're comfy as hell and a whole lot more fun to drive. Add a little Billy Squier and vintage Nuge to your classic country rotation.

I only do that when it's absolutely necessary, which is quite seldom.

I sat in a Town Car once, about an '04 model probably. Leg room was not as good as the Buick I had back then. That shocked me to sit in a car that big with crampy knees. It says 5'10" on my license.
