What Explains U.S. Mass Shootings? International Comparisons Suggest an Answer

"Swiss gun laws are more stringent, setting a higher bar for securing and keeping a license, for selling guns and for the types of guns that can be owned. Such laws reflect more than just tighter restrictions. They imply a different way of thinking about guns, as something that citizens must affirmatively earn the right to own."

Rights are granted neither by man nor governments.

I would rather live in one of the few nations that understand that and take my statistically insignificant chances of being shot to death.

If man nor government grants rights then who does? You're not actually going to say God are you...

If you believe in God, sure. Have you some impression I do not? I view God differently than most American Christians, but yes I believe in God.

Our rights are bestowed upon us by birth as humans. You don't have to believe in God to understand this. Human rights are a concept, yes? If humans have certain rights simply because we are human, how can another human deprive us of what we are born with? And certainly, the right to self defense is a basic human right, as is the right against tyranny. The Second Amendment merely recognizes this.
