Does Doc pick up a 5th yr transfer or go with one in the stable? Green is highly regarded, Morrell to me is a ?, Gaines was a 4 * QB in high school. I would give Gaines a shot. Your thoughts?

Gaines won't play QB at Marshall. He's a TE now.

Green and Morrell will get a shot.

My money would be on a grad transfer QB winning the job, though.

I would agree with above... If we go with an in-house option Green has the best chance IMO to "win" the job. But given the amount of returning players we have on both sides of the ball, I would expect MU to be pretty attractive to a grad transfer QB. Then go with Green and a bunch of youngsters the following year.

sould the grad transfer QB sign by Feb 7?

No. Grad transfer can't sign until he graduates in May.

Even if he has completed his degree and graduated, say, in December? A lot of schools, including MU, now have a winter graduation ceremony. The way a lot of student athletes today enroll early in College, get college credit in high school, stay on campus in summers, working out and taking classes, a lot of them have their degrees, I'm sure, by September of their senior season.

Sure, but not the grad transfer we’re after.

Ha...I saw your response on the other board. At least we had him on campus and are still heavily in the mix. The waiting is the hardest part! I'm sure Doc has a backup option in place...
