Why is Huff

Get a large pay out to leave CUSA and get more playing time ...i don't see anything wrong with it
Exactly.
People on here b*tched endlessly about how MU never markets itself and CUSA never gets national exposure (both of which are true).

Yet here some fans are...not supporting, you know, an aggressive marketing tactic for MU.

I'll say it again, MU fans (and WVians in general) are the one population who work endlessly against themselves.

I can understand the name recognition, etc, etc. But budget wise, logistics, and overall health wise of the players what would we actually do if a Bowl says, “ok you’re in see you in 5 days, “how exactly is that going to be pulled off?

Did you not read the tweet? Sun Bowl wanted us to play Friday and we said no due to logistics. Says to me we’re interested in playing, it would likely take us one week’s notice to play. We would have had that for the Gator Bowl. We would not have for the Sun Bowl.

3,4,5,6 or 7 days really what’s the difference? Students are out on break, players same. If we wanted it to happen it would’ve happened

My issue is we have a team that shut down 2’weeks ago (so might say even sooner) and we would go play a team that has been keeping their routine. It’s a recipe for injuries.

Rutgers was off a full month and returned for one week. We were off one week at the point that game came open. Rutgers hadn’t practiced since the day after Thanksgiving. I’m curious to see how they are health-wise following their bowl game Friday.

The health thing for us seems like a poor excuse. We were as healthy as we could be going into the bowl game. We seemed ok after the bowl game. We were off for less than a full week before the spot opened. It would have taken two days to get everyone back to town and going again.

Would we have been Covid-free enough to play after going home? That’s absolutely a fair question. But I think we could have put a good foot forward otherwise.

Did anyone see the Wake Forest-Army game?

Huff taking the lead it seems; I doubt the interim AD, Gilbert or Smith have an issue with it. It's rare for anyone at MU to be proactive. I look for that to change with Smith on board.
Not saying you are, but if you are, don’t sleep on what our AD has been doing to try and make these things happen. We have a very good one right now and I hope we keep him.

Can you be any more of a complete buffoon? I’ll answer, no, no you can’t you fvcking jackass
I’m sorry but you’re the one complaining about playing another game. You’re the one not wanting to play and running from a challenge.

I’m actually saying O’Malley, Is being proactive by allowing Huff to be his own man and do these things.
As I have said before, I wouldn’t mind Jeff getting the AD gig but I will expect some fresh ideas and an effort to build the fan base coming from the Schewey.

Logistically, it was an ultra "long shot", at best. Logistics nightmare, getting enough players to make a bona fide traveling squad back to H-town in time for a hurried run through practice in the Cline facility, and then hastily boarding whatever travel/flight accommodations that can be cobbled up in the resurgent COVID mess (with thousands, and climbing, of holiday flights, already cancelled!

Then, too, the slow as molasses NCAA hierarchy would have to make an "executive decision" granting the HERD permission to play in a second bowl game this decision. And we all know how "quickly" the NCAA "braintrust" has acted/ruled in cases of eligibility concerning HERD incoming recruits, transfers, etc.

On a personal note I would like to have seen MU take a shot, and get it, in the Bowl out west in which Arizona State, IIRC, had to opt out of. Their scheduled opponent, Central MIchigan out of the MAC! Would have been a nice feeling going into the New Year to have seen the gridiron HERD play, and defeat, CMU after HERD fans have seen their school's basketball squad go 0 fer 3 against MAC round ballers, dumped, thumped and beeotch slapped by Akron, Ohio U. and Toledo recently!

I like the competitive drive of Huff and the extra payday is always helpful too. I am not sure how you get the kids ready in the short period of time after the last game.

The season is over. We need to move on to next year. There are a myriad of reasons why we cannot get into another bowl game.
