the republicans did everything they could to throw sand into the economy,
the new that as dems said govt spending spurs the economy and creates
jobs - then republicans said it did not, now they say it does.

Lots of status quo (paving, resurfacing, etc), because no one wants to admit what we really need done, much less pay for it.

Granted, "shovel ready" was what both parties wanted....and that's what they got.
