When are we going to be told the kickoff time? Making it difficult to make post-Thanksgiving plans. This is ridiculous.

How quickly we forget. This year one of the good things about the TV deal was we knew all but one of the start times before the season started. Most leagues, and us until this year, you never know until a few days before.

There are 12 games currently waiting on orders from their masters in Bristol, CT, and that week is not a full week. Usually 20 or 30 games are held up for start times.

The game will be either on ESPNU at 7 or ESPNews at 8. Not a big difference in how you need to plan either way.

Long range says temps in the mid 30's, game will last 4 hours. No thanks I'll give mine away.

Bright side-you won't have to be there for 4 hours. We win the toss, defer, they score in 1.5 minutes, we go 3 and out, they score again and the game is over. You are out of there in an hour.

:D:D:D
You weren't going to be there if it was 70 degrees and a Victoria secret model waved a fan over you the whole game. Got to love Herd "fans" LOL.

Lmao. When I was a young man I sat thru many games wet and/or cold knowing before the game started MU had very little chance of winning. Now I'm older and wiser so I'll leave being uncomfortable to younger fans. Think of it as a right of passage. :D

This isn't a super fan thing. Lol, I couldn't give a shit if people go to the game or not. Hell, the way this team is playing I don't blame people if they don't want to go. But the whole excuse everyone is using is the time and weather, and that's bullshit.

Some of us aren't suckers and hang on every word coming from the Schewey. Not sure if I will be there either. If I am, it will be for the Seniors only.

Game time is dependent on what time the guy with the key to unlock the stadium can get there.

Might be like the movie Gung Ho but instead of a factory it will be ---- stadium locked , can not find key.

Amazing all the confusion over what time the game will begin , not like it has anything to do with a game that is dependent on the time a national network would choose or that it has national implications , it doesn't even have county implications.

At this point (and I asked the question to start this thread) I don't even care now. Totally pointless game and I believe the team will merely go through the motions and end a nightmare season.

With the injury list reading the way it does, I'm wondering what there will be less of: fans in the stands or dressed players on the sideline.

Sad day for our seniors but when you play on a losing team it's hard to expect more other than parents and significant others. Thank you seniors for playing your college football at Marshall University.

A losing season is one thing, but a clusterfxck like this? Totally different. Most of them didn't even appear to care

Hate to say it, for the seniors, but for good of the future of the program, maybe another Akron like beat down might be in order. WKU will be fighting for the East Division championship. Lose to us, together with a win by ODU, and the Monarchs are champs, unbelievable as that sounds. Umm, just think, if ODU wins out, including the championship game, they will have as many CUSA championships in 3 seasons as MU has in 10!! Anyway, a total demolition Saturday at the hands of the Hilltoppers might be the final nail the forces Hamrick and/or Doc to make the much needed, and painfully obvious, staff changes which this programs desperately needs!!!

I will be there to send off the seniors and since I have season tickets...how long I stay is up in the air. I won't put my family through the freezing temps for another blowout loss.

If you remember ESPN got 5 games in the new TV contract and had to pick first. This, the presumtive east division championship, was one they picked. Ha, ha for ESPN. Like most every other game on ESPN, game time is held up until the week before.

Overlaping with games like UCLA-Cal, USC-Clemson, Florida-Florida State and others, not only will the seats be empty, ESPN's rating will be fully explanable by house cats having randomly walked on their owners remote controls.

Begins to make one wonder just how many of the "injuries" are injuries or I just do not want to put forth the effort and play injuries. Team loses this many games and people suddenly become '"injured" , just saying.

You would be wrong. College athletes do not go through the daily grind and effort of being a college athlete and then not want to play in the games. The games are the rewards for all the hard work they put in to prepare for the games.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion PD - and as said , just saying , especially when you think about history. Realizing as a former college athlete(me not you) that you are totally correct in the game being the reward (depends on the sport as well) but in some cases injuries are from just really not caring like players should , you know , much like the effort we have witnessed for too much of the season.

Wonder how many people will renew their season tickets next year if Doc keeps his staff?

What you and MARSHALL77 are discussing, pdbailey, makes one wonder if there is a more plausible, and possibly, serious issue behind our injury record this season. That is: the status of our "strength and conditioning" program under a new coach that Doc brought in this season. Aside from a rather inordinate amount of injuries this season, our team has, almost without exception, seemed to been "out muscled" and "out quicked" at almost all positions in the games I have seen. Often, to be frank, both our interior lines have been manhandled by their opposing counterparts. If a thorough review of our football program is in order based on this season's disastrous performance and results, I hope Doc or Hamrick, or both, look at the status of our conditioning program!!

Maybe....just maybe its because we don't have the athletes/talent that we've been assured have been signed.

Amazing. I've read more complaints about our strength and conditioning coach here than I can count. Every team has injuries to key players throughout a season. Unfortunately our "key" players that haven't been kicked off just don't appear as talented as the other teams. Strength and conditioning cant cover up the dumpster fire this program has turned into.

Agree, I think the homer media and experts on these boards tend to embellish our "talent". No more kool aid.

Even when the team is down.

I enjoy the game experience.

Socializing with friends and old roommates and alumni. Talking to the visiting crowd. Etc

Yes when we are playing poorly or the weather is bad I may not stay the whole game. Shame on me.

But I always show and walk through the gate.

It's college football

Sometimes it's roses sometimes it's weeds.

Marshall has survived much MUCH worse than this.

Enjoy the season and a common reason to chat among friends.

Yeah, well, when many of those injuries have happened to upperclassmen, such as 2 senior linemen, who played for 2-3 years under another conditioning program/coach, and then are injured under a new conditioning regimen, then the possibility is there that the SC program may be a factor, whether or not you like it!!

Injuries happen regardless of S&C. Because someone plays a couple seasons without injuries means diddly squat in this type of sport.

We have a talent and on field coaching issue......period. That's the bigger issue I don't "like".

Van Horn wasn't hurt this year, he was hurt 1.5 years ago and hasn't been very, or any good; or healthy, since.

The thing is that Day has been using many of the S&C principles he learned while working for the Bengals and it just doesn't seem like that should lead to injuries. I do believe we seem a little slower and stiffer this year but that could be younger players adjusting to carrying weight and thinking instead of playing. One factor to look at is that a bunch of players put on weight for this year so maybe they haven't adjusted to the extra weight as expected. Training programs can be adjusted to correct deficiencies so I wouldn't get rid of Day just yet unless there is something else going on behind the scenes, and from what I understand, the players really like the programs he has put together for them. A lot of our injuries are thud and twist injuries so it could just be bad luck with the injuries this year and not conditioning.

Just saying and for the sake of argument - Injuries happen due to the lack of strength and conditioning , injuries happen due to freak hits , injuries happen when people are not paying attention and then sometimes "injuries" happen because people do not have the backbone to see things to the bitter end. Think we have a few of those type of injuries going into the WKU game.

But - again , when you are basically pushed around as this team has been , I would have to agree with other posters about the "maybe we do not have what we were sold " approach when it comes to the physical abilities of too many attached to the program. You either have the players or you dont , whats on paper does nothing for whats on the field.
