Brian Robinson DB (2010) dismissed before playing due to domestic dispute and possession of a gun.

Travon Van RB (2010) part of a one two punch his freshman year but transferred prior to his junior year after being passed on depth chart

DJ Hunter S (2011) moved to LB where he was named freshman All-America, then moved to S and suffered an injury at MTSU losing his spot, and then switched back to LB where he picked up where he left off from his FR season.

Kevin Grooms RB (2011) one of the most dynamic players in Herd history. Named CUSA Freshman of the year. Played spotty in his sophomore campaign due to injuries. Battled alcohol related issues and was dismissed.

AJ Leggett DB (2012) one of the cornerstones of the Herd's defense. Outside of Randy Moss the highest rated player to sign with Marshall.

Stefan Houston LB (2013) impressive freshman campaign then dropped off his sophomore year. Still a capable playmaker and should factor in if he finds his freshman form. Sky's the limit.

Angelo Jean-Louis WR (2013) absolute stud on the outside as a freshman. Sky is the limit with AJL.

Deontay McManus WR (2013) moved to TE during the offseason and struggled to see the field. Moved to WR out of necessity and took off. His production caused the staff to reconsider using bigger WRs leading to the size of the WRs in the 2015 class.

Antwon Chisolm ATH (2010) arrived on campus and never made it to camp. Will forever be known as one of the Pizza Boys.

Zack Dunston S (2010) looked to be slotted as a starting safety until the BC transfers were added to the roster. Transferred following camp because he lost his starting role.

Robert Mincey DE (2011) never really amounted to much and ended up leaving the team

Jarquez Samuel DE (2011) has been an impact player plugging the middle. Will reach graduation and should have a pretty good senior season.

Tommy Shuler WR (2011) outside of Cato was the biggest star on the team. Ended up with the most receptions in school history both in a career and in a single season and was one of only eight players in NCAA history to have back-to-back 100 catch seasons narrowly missing a three in a row by eight catches.

Allan Wasonga RB (2011) due to a checkered past was an invited walk-on with promise of a scholarship if he earned it. Never saw game action due to a fist fight with an assistant strength coach. Tragically his past finally caught up with him as he was found dead in July of 2014. Another cautionary tale for young athletes.

Craig Wilkins WR (2011) through his four seasons at Marshall he gave solid production and even provided the fans with a few highlight worthy catches. Reached graduation.

Steward Butler RB (2011) another heralded RB that at times has been an impact stud player. Trouble with work ethic and attitude have found him in the doghouse and cost him playing time. Is poised for a great senior season and on track to graduate.

Terry Franklin DE (2011) could not reach eligibility from JUCO and never made it to campus.

Conelius Jones QB (2011) lots of hype surrounded this player nicknamed CoJo after flipping from Michigan. Was asked to make the move to WR and looked to have a lot of promise. After two weeks he left the team because he was homesick and last word was he never played football again.

Steve Dillon DE (2011) since gaining eligibility has been a solid contributor at DT and is on track to graduate this season.

Shawn Samuels DB (2011) never really played and left the team after two seasons.

Gunnar Holcombe QB (2012) is now a junior and competing for the starting job.

Gage Niemeyer OL (2012) over his two years arriving from JUCO he provided solid depth along the OLine and at times even started. Graduated.

Rakim Reed TE (2012) showed flashes of potential in his first camp but left the team to transfer to either a D-II or NAIA team so he could be with his girlfriend. Rumor was a few weeks after joining his new school they broke up.

Billy Rone OL (2012) was a bust and left after just one season out of JUCO

Andre Scott DB (2012) sort of hyped athlete with an impressive offer list. Should injury prevent seeing the field as a freshman. Subsequently moved to WR, never really played, and transferred following camp last season.

Ken Smith DT (2012) coming out of JUCO gave all he could at DT but injuries kept him off the field leading to his transfer.

Kent Turene LB (2012) much hyped addition to the Herd roster but has been plagued with injury after injury sidelining him. First an ankle injury then a finger injury that both required surgery. Should get a medical RS and hopes to see playing time finally this season as a RS JR.

Josh Brown DT (2012) had troubles keeping his weight down. Eventually transferred to SC State.

Jeremiah Benjamin LB (2013) much hyped player that weeks out from reporting decided he would go to JUCO.

Chris Huhn OL (2013) RS SO with promise that looks to add to the rotation along the offensive line.

Sandley Jean-Felix OL (2013) a beast of a human being that looks to be a big time contributor in the years to come.

Michael Johnson DB (2013) a late flip from FSU that burned his RS but has yet to live up to his promise on the field.

Taj Letman S (2013) a JUCO transfer with a rare three years of eligibility. Since arriving on campus has been a solid addition to the safety position and will graduate following the 2015 season.

Shykeem Pitts DB (2013) player with promise that ended up going to JUCO. Had a chance to still be a part of the Herd until tragedy struck and he lost his live in a shooting incident in October of 2014. He was just 21 years old.

Chocolate Wilson DB (2013) a player with a lot of promise that will be a RS SO this season. Should see playing time this year.

Emanuel Beal WR (2014) was redshirted in 2014 and looks to have the skills and potential to be an impact player on the outside giving the Herd a deep and downright lethal rotation.

Nathaniel Devers OL (2014) was redshirted in 2014 and looks to be battling it out to take over for the graduated Chris Jasperse at the center position.

Hyleck Foster WR (2014) very talented player that outran his RS in 2014. Provided the Herd with clutch plays down the stretch. Has a lot of promise to be the next star at Marshall in the slot position taking over where Shuler left off.

Kendall Gant S (2014) much heralded recruit that was flipped from UGA. Avoided being redshirted seeing some time at safety and played a lot of special teams. Had a highlight hit against Rhode Island.

Cole Garvin QB (2014) redshirted in 2014 and will be battling for the starting QB job.

Maurice Hall ATH (2014) reported to campus and maybe lasted a month before going back home after deciding college wasn't for him or at least Marshall wasn't.

Kaleb Harris LB (2014) redshirted and moved to TE. Will get his shot to see if he can be the next star at TE.

Frankie Hernandez LB (2014) working on gaining eligibility.

Demetrius Johnson WR/S (2014) an Army All-American that has failed to make it to Marshall two years I a row. Heading to JUCO now. Maybe we will see Mr. Johnson in 2017.

Quintavious Knight DB (2014) never made it to campus

Malik Thompson DE (2014) working on gaining eligibility.

2-stars (59)

Demetrius Evans WR (2010) player that was talented but could never put it together consistently. Played all four years and graduated.

Mike Flueurizard DT (2010) the last of and the ring leader of the infamous Pizza Boys. This guy was so much of punk he provoked a fight with Vinny Curry during off season workouts. Never played a down and has been in and out of jail.

Justin Haig K (2010) all through his four years he gave the Herd stability at the kicker position and even won the 2014 CUSA Championship Game MVP honor. Graduated.

Curtis Head TE (2010) when I hear this name I think kicker from the early 2000s. Don't know anything about this kid and don't think he ever played a down at Marshall. Could be wrong.

Gator Hoskins TE (2010) was first slotted to play safety then was moved to WR. Quickly grew out of WR getting to 255lbs and becoming one of, if not the greatest TE in Marshall history. After graduating he signed as an UFA to the Dolphins playing in 8 games before being cut. Singed by the Seahawks to the practice squad and cut after a couple weeks.

Jermaine Kelson WR (2010) provided depth early on at the WR position and an emergency backup QB. Following his junior season in 2013 he requested a transfer because of healthy difficulties with his child. I believe he transferred to one of the F_US.

Ra'Shawde Meyers DE (2010) career started off rocky but after getting married Meyers refocused and became a solid contributor and eventual starter at the DE position. Graduated.

James Power LS (2010) came in with all this hype and trick shot videos. Couldn't keep the ball off the turf and never played a down after getting passed up by Matt Cincotta. Transferred to TCU. Since his transfer he has become an avid hater of everything Doc Holliday and has been known/rumored to troll certain message board forums.

Randy Richards OL (2010) don't believe he ever made it to campus.

Darryl Roberts DB (2010) from day one was in the mix at corner and eventually being the #1 CB for the Herd. Biggest highlight was his interception of Dominick Davis in overtime of the season finale vs the ECU Pirates in the 2011 season securing a 6-6 record and a bowl berth.

TJ Ross LB (2010) played sparingly early on and after his second fall camp he transferred after not winning the starting spot.

AJ Scott DE (2010) don't believe this guy every played.

Garrett Scott OL (2010) became one of the best on the OL for the Herd. After graduation he was drafted in the sixth round by the Seattle Seahawks nearly getting a Super Bowl ring.

Brandon Sparrow DT (2010) became a starter at DT and graduated.

Malcom Strong DE (2010) didn't really play too much but did see action and provided depth at the DE position. Graduated.

DeAndre Reaves ATH (2011) player with tons of potential, speed, and athleticism. Biggest career highlight was his KR TD vs NIU in the Boca Bowl. Will be senior this year and should graduate.

Chris Alston WR (2011) arrived on campus following a gray shirt year to rehab a knee injury. Never really saw any action at WR and transferred before the 2014 season.

Cortez Carter LB (2011) not a star player for the Herd but he provided depth at LB and according to Doc helped nailed down several recruits during their visits. Graduated.

Blake Frohnapfel QB (2011) following a RS year in 2011 he spent the next two years backing up Rakeem Cato. Tired of waiting to play and have already graduated he transferred to UMASS.

Sebastian Johansson OL (2011) at first Swede didn't look like he was ever going to see the field. However hard work and sheer toughness lead to him being an important player in the Herd's 2014 13-1 run.

Josue Joseph OL (2011) never really played and transferred

Evan McKelvey S (2011) one of the players by both fans and players alike. Although he has not suffered two knee injuries McKelvey will get a medical RS and will be an important player once again for the Herd. If he already hasn't he should graduate following the 2015 season.

Anthony Spano OL (2011) transferred after one or two seasons never really seeing any playing time.

Corie Wilson S (2011) played mostly special teams. Decided to transfer following the 2014 season. Believe he graduated.

Eric Ansley OL (2012) figures to be in the mix along the OLine.

Matt Cincotta LS (2012) the player that beat out might James Power. Since arriving on campus and beating out the Power, Cincotta has been a mainstay at the long snapper position.

Tyler Combs OL (2012) arrived on campus after a gray shirt year to rehab an injury and add size. Suffered an injury in the 2014 offseason missing the season. Reportedly back on the team and will be in the mix along the OLine.

Chris Hall TE (2012) talented athlete that was slotted to play TE at Marshall however grades kept him from every making it to campus.

Deyonte Henderson LB (2012) never made it to campus. Decided to play at a lower level.

Devon Johnson LB (2012) ROCKHEAD! One of the most exciting and beloved players on the roster since he came to campus with all intentions of playing LB. Was soon moved to TE in the 2013 offseason. Showed promise at TE and looked to be the successor to Gator Hoskins. However following the dismissal of Kevin Grooms and Doc's distrust of the other RBs (his words not mine) Devon was moved to RB where he exploded rushing for nearly 1,800 yards proving to be one of the best RBs in the history of Marshall football and is poised to have another huge season. Johnson will graduate following the 2015 season.

Ryan Riedel LB (2012) much debated player who has dealt with back injuries. Came in as a LB then moved to DE then moved to TE. Riedel should graduate.

Gary Thompson LB (2012) after gaining eligibility Thompson quickly made his presence known to opposing QBs. With his speed Thompson has been a menace at DE.

Corey Tindal DB (2012) after gaining eligibility Tindal quickly became a standout playing nickel back. Following a great freshman campaign Tindal won co-CUSA Freshman of the year honors giving Marshall its second consecutive FOY award winner.

Clint Van Horn (2012) has become one of the best offensive lineman in the conference and a huge part of the Herd's success. Will graduate.

Kevin Anderson QB (2013) was never as talented as the others and following spring ball in 2014 Anderson transferred after just two seasons with the Herd.

Arnold Blackmon DE (2013) his first year out of JUCO was rocky and inconsistent but his senior year was a breakout year. His biggest highlight was his strip sack of UAB's QB put the Herd back in the lead in the fourth quarter and keep the dream of an undefeated season alive. Graduated.

Brandon Byrd RB (2013) after gaining eligibility Byrd sustained a concussion in camp. Played in mop up duty showing flashes in the first half of the season. Bright future for Byrd.

Cody Collins OL (2013) came in and gave the Herd valuable minutes as injuries happened across the OLine.

Justin Hunt WR (2013) avoided a RS in his freshman season but has had trouble with consistency. This offseason is probably make or break for Hunt's future with the Herd.

Josh Knight WR (2013) was redshirted and played sparingly in the 2014 season. Like Hunt this offseason could be make or break for Knight's future with the Herd.

Tiquan Lang DB (2013) as soon as he stepped on the field he started laying the wood on opposing players. Avoided his RS and after taking over for DJ Hunter when he went down with an apparent neck injury in 2013 during the third quarter of the MTSU game Lang hasn't looked back.

Tony Pittman RB (2013) after gaining eligibility Pittman showed promise in camp. Didn't play much early on but started seeing time late in the S.Miss game and after. Showed flashed of both speed and power. Almost a Rockhead like just 20-30lbs lighter.

Aaron Plantt LB (2013) not really done much since arriving on campus. This offseason could be make or break for Plantt's future with the Herd.

Michael Selby OL (2013) this kid is an absolute animal. Avoided getting a RS and played a huge part in the Herd's 2014 13-1season.

Gerald Wright OL (2013) after being asked to gray shirt he never made it to campus.

AJ Addison OL (2014) after arriving as a January enrollee Addison quickly showed he was ready to go day one. As a freshman provided much needed depth on the OLine and looks to have a bright future.

Ryan Bee DE (2014) redshirted in 2014.

Fred Binot OL (2014) redshirted in 2014.

Alex Cason WR (2014) never made it to campus.

Keion Davis RB (2014) working on gaining eligibility.

Jordan Dowrey DT (2014) redshirted in 2014.

Gator Green WR (2014) saw action at PR and mostly special teams following a fumbled put against Rhode Island.

Laderrick Hammond DB (2014) redshirted in 2014.

Nyquan Harris DT (2014) working on gaining eligibility.

Brandon Mitchell OL (2014) spent 2014 working on getting his eligibility. Joined the Herd in bowl prep.

Tomell One DE (2014) avoided his RS and showed promise at DT.

Antavis Rowe DB (2014) when he arrived in June he was out of shape and couldn't keep up. Motivated by embarrassment Rowe hired a personal trainer for the summer. It worked because he avoided a RS and provided the Herd with valuable minutes playing the nickel back position.

Jason Smith DT (2014) working on gaining eligibility.

Ryan Yurachek TE (2014) probably the biggest surprise of the 2014 class and season. Viewed as a developmental player and no other FBS offers Yurachek showed the potential to be one a stud at TE. AD Mike Hamrick said he believes Yurachek will go down as the best TE in Marshall football history.
