Should you have to at least attempt to throw it like a football? They are doing text book basketball chest passes.

This is a football throwing contest. They need to enforce a proper football pass rule. If not, just take a basketball out there.

Also, during hot dog eating contests you should have to eat it like a normal hot dog. You shouldn't be able to take it apart or dunk the bun in water. That's not how you eat a freaking hot dog.
