After a strong showing against North Texas, Marshall used the off week to prepare for a second consecutive stellar performance, this time, against Florida International. The grades from the 38-0 victory are a little skewed as the Herd’s second and third teamers saw a fair amount of action in the second half. Marshall’s top graded offensive player from Week 9 was Kendrick Sartor, grading at 79.8. Now for a look at the rest of the Herd’s offense according to PFF.

Quarterback:

For the first time all season, Grant Wells had scored a 0.0% in the “Turnover Worthy Play” category, as determined by PFF. Wells received an overall grade of 65.5 despite going 20 of 25 passing for 184 yards. He also had two carries with one touchdown on the ground. Wells’ NFL Passer Rating for Week 9 was 97.3. In limited action, Luke Zban graded at 75.6, while PFF graded Cam Fancher 48.8.

Running Back:

As has become the standard for the season, Rasheen Ali received the top grade among Marshall’s running backs with a 74.4. Ali finished with 26 carries for 133 yards and two touchdowns. Sheldon Evans had arguably his best game of the year with nine carries for 70 yards and a touchdown. As such, Evans received a grade of 71.1 from PFF. Ethan Payne graded at 63.9.

Wide Receiver:

Ethan Hahn led the Herd’s wide receiving corps with a grade of 74.7. Hahn was followed by Willie Johnson at 73.7 and Jayden Harrison at 70.5. Shadeed Ahmed was given a grade of 64.6, while Corey Gammage earned a 64.2. Caleb Coombs finished with a grade of 44.1.

Tight End:

Although he did not catch a pass, Garet Morrell, was Marshall’s top graded tight end at 64.2. Xavier Gaines was a close second, grading a 62.2. Amir Richardson rounded out the Herd’s tight ends with a grade of 56.8.

Offensive Line:

Marshall played ten offensive lineman against FIU, just as they did against North Texas. Kendrick Sartor led the offensive line with a grade of 79.8 (78.6 run block, 68.7 pass block) on 53 snaps.
