Allow me to begin by saying I'm just hired help on this website and I don't have the connections at Marshall like some of the other guys here do, but I have covered a lot of coaching hirings, firings, and resignations.
If Huff truly said what he is accused of saying I think he is in trouble.
You see, there are all kinds of things built into a contract that could benefit both sides. These contracts will ALWAYS have something built in about termination for cause if a coach does something that could be considered detrimental to the program, for lying, etc. Arkansas fired Bobby Petrino for cause under terms like these.
Let's be honest for a second. If Huff did in fact say that, that could be pretty damned detrimental to the program, and I believe it gives Marshall enough to fire him for cause with no buyout owed.
