Following Marshall's 16-7 setback to Troy, we dive into the ProFootballFocus.com stats to see the issues as a collective group on both sides of the ball -- first, with the offense.

The entire offense's grades, by position group, are below:

QUARTERBACKS:

The quarterback position graded out at the worst of the bunch as Henry Colombi posted a season low 44.8 PFF offensive grade in 45 offensive snaps. Colombi went just 8-of-13 for 49 yards and posted a QBR rating of only 10.5, notching just 3.8 yards per completion. Cam Fancher, in 28 snaps at the position, went 3-of-7 for 29 yards for 4.1 yards per completion and a QBR rating of six.

To add insult to injury, the duo, who were credited with 13 combined carries based off of sacks, had negative-35 rushing yards for the contest.

RUNNING BACKS:

Khalan Laborn, who again proved to be Marshall's bell cow at the running back position, posted the best PFF overall grade of the entire offense once again, rushing for 118 yards and accumulating a 72.4 overall grade. However, Laborn needed 30 carries to get there and mustered just 3.9 yards per carry.

AJ Turner posted a 63 PFF grade in three reps while Ethan Payne notched a 55.1 PFF grade to round out the running back room.

WIDE RECEIVERS:

As with the quarterback room, the wide receiver room notched its worst collective performance of the year. Caleb McMillan, who had a team-high three catches for 37 yards, led the way with a 60.4 PFF grade. No other receiver had more than 18 yards through the air.

Jayden Harrison (58.7 PFF), Talik Keaton (58.1 PFF), Stone Scarcelle (56.7 PFF), Shadeed Ahmed (56 PFF), Corey Gammage (52.9 PFF), Charles Montgomery (52.8 PFF) and EJ Horton (52.7 PFF) rounded out the wide receiver room. Harrison, Ahmed and Gammage were held to eight yards receiving COMBINED.

TIGHT ENDS:

Tight-end wise, Devin Miller and Stacey Marshall, Jr. used good pass blocking grades to obtain PFF grades of 62.3 and 59.7, respectively. However, neither player had a catch in 76 snaps.

OFFENSIVE LINEMEN:

Outside of Laborn, the offensive linemen unit was able to represent Marshall's offense, from top to bottom, as the best graded unit of the entire offense. Cedrice Paillant (65.4 PFF), Trent Holler (63.6 PFF), Ethan Driskell (63.5 PFF), Dalton Tucker (63.5 PFF) and Logan Osburn (63.2 PFF) were five of the top six graded players in the entire offense. Paillant and Osburn notched pass blocking grades of 85.2 and 84.2, respectively, to post strong performances in that effort.

However, Kendrick Sartor, who tied for the most snaps played along with Driskell (73 snaps), had the second-worst PFF grade of the entire offense, grading out at just 48.8. His pass blocking rating was especially bad -- an incredible 2.6.
