2015-16 Men's BB Roster?

Schools like the Herd have to roll the dice now and then.

I say show Levi Cook some love and get him signed. I'm sure many big schools are pulling away since the knee injury and his already questionable physical conditioning. Get him in the fold, red-shirt and rehab. If he gets in shape, with his footwork, 6'10" in DD's system could be a beast.

I see no way he fits DD's style of play. Way too big for that. If we do take him, tell him to re-hab on his own next year and then come in on scholarship the following year. No need to tie up a scholarship and get nothing from it for a year. Danny is looking at many more big guys that fit his style better than Levi. The kid from Poland and one from Montenegro. Both are presently juniors.

And the big Serb fits DDs "style"?

Dan claims to want to recruit and develop in-state talent. Well, their haven't been many 6'10" talents like Cook come through WV. I'm certain there are a number of creative ways to get Cook on board without using a scholarship next year but still limiting his out of pocket expenses. Even if we needed to give him a scholarship, which we now have, it has the opportunity to provide what I think is a greater upside than Mijovic. Cook is already more athletic and has better footwork.

I regards to style, UNC the #17 offensive scoring team in the country started 6'9" 280 lb Kennedy Meeks. Run and gun can be entertaining and effective but you still need to have halfcourt options and the ability to guard the post.

I just think, he's a local kid who clearly wants to come to Marshall and now unfortunately for him, because of his injury , his options are limited.

We just brought in a 5'10" walkon PG who is in no way a D-I player. He's a GREAT kid and yes you need great kids at the end of your bench (Not to mention trying to bring in his younger brother) but he will never play meaningful minutes at the D-I level.

I definitely think Cook is worth a roll of the dice.

With the outcome of the season (with the roster he had) and the off season moves , I am trusting DD more each day.
