last night vs Presbyterian. I did some math based on an average ticket price of $20. $20 x 3,383===$67,660 and some change. What did MU have to pay last night to host game 2? If 3,383 is correct....where are the other patrons since the students are on Spring Break?

9048--3383===5,665 empty seats!!!! Where are the locals [about 3,000] that usually support HERD Hoops?

Like the first game, I think more were there than what was posted. I think the pay is 25K per game. MU is on spring break.

I understand the students are on Spring Break
....of which usually about 50-75 students attend basketball games.... other than the pep band. Pitiful turnout---but that's a subject for another day!

A lot of folks attending (employed by Marshall) receive FREE tickets, therefore, they are NOT counted as tickets sold...I have HERD!

Sweeney - I am pretty sure you are using S.W.A.G. to estimate the # of students...I would propose that there will be some additional butts in seats on Tuesday!! Go Herd!!

I watched most of the game, looked more than half filled and was noisy to boot, so not sure if those numbers are accurate. Regardless, if we paid say 50K to host a game, that would still be 17K profit plus concessions.

Many season tix are purchased by corporations that are handed out to employees, customers etc. Those same corporations do NOT buy these game by game tickets. So that opens the sets up to others.
I know that last night the 6 people in front of me and the 6 behind me were all new. None had those seats for the regular season

Still curious if it comes down to ULM and Marshall who hosts. We had 5,700 last game and expect more this week. Some polls ULM is ranked higher and some polls Marshall is higher. Not sure if that is the determination or crowd size. Thoughts?

My guess is it goes to the highest bidder

Zilla I teach at Marshall. You have been misinformed regarding free tickets. The faculty gets free tickets once a season at a game determined by our AD. One pod game we got a free ticket - one per faculty member. You, on the other hand - per all your posts of your family ties to coach probably get all the freebies you want. But we don’t so why don’t you hit Dan up for a few hundred tickets, send them to me, and I will distribute among the faculty.

Arrowheadead 97 - something from Chas Gazette I copied to share here:

8 days ago · 2019 0320 mu basketball ... Other CIT first-round games played Monday and Tuesday had ... 1 seed in the CIT and receives a bye through the second round. ... The Herd stays at home throughout the tournament and it's next ...

While we all are aware of fake news, I believe as the top seed we have the championship game in Huntington if we win semi Tuesday night....

NOT the case[S.W.A.G.]...a LOT of FREE tickets float around Marshall...part of the faculty's compensation.....therefore, our reported number are NEVER correct!

I will speak to
Dan about a plan [$] to help the faculty out since HE LOVES MARSHALL. Perhaps, a Faculty MARCH on the AD's Office would help you out? You know, like the HS teacher's March on Charleston for higher wages & stuff.....Get out your RED shirts......MARCH & Beat a LOUD DRUM....

Faculty do not receive free tickets as part of compensation. Ocassionally, the ticket office runs discounts for faculty and staff, usually once a season in both sports, but there are no free tickets given to faculty as part of compensation or part of any routine freebie system.

But Gary'S weeney is going to talk to Cousin Danny at halftime about trying to fix that, so you should be alright in a week or two.
