Well it is amazing how attitudes can change around here. I have said all along that DD is a good coach and that wv kids can play. our last 12 games we are 9-3 with 2 of the l's to Top 25 teams and another team with a 15-2 record. The future is bright. We struggled at the end but found a way to win on the road tonight!

It was really nice to see when they faced adversity tonight they handled it and came out with the win. The last 15 seconds when they cut it to 2 they stayed calm got the ball to Kelly for the dunk then stopped them from scoring and got the win.

Of course WV kids can play.. I never understood this notion that they couldn't.. This isn't football, basketball has always produced pretty good mid to high level D1 basketball talent.. Lets look at just over the last several years or so without counting the OJ, Patterson and Walker trio.. You have Craig Ponder at UNC-W (12-5 record) right now averaging 12.5 ppg, Donate Grantham at Clemson (12-6 record, and three straight wins vs top 20 teams) is averaging 10.5 ppg but has had 12, 14 and 16 in those three straight wins, Chase Fischer at BYU (13-6 record) is averaging just over 18 ppg including 18pts in a 69-68 upset over top 25 ranked Gonzaga.. Then you have kids like Chase Fieler who was on the Florida Gulf Coast team that went to the Sweet 16 and was nicknamed "Lob City" he was a 1,000 pt scorer for them including averaging 14 points and 7 rebounds a game for them as a senior, Peirra Henry at UNC-Charlotte was an All Conference USA player for the 49ers.

Then there is another several players in WV High School basketball that have already committed to D1 schools like the kid at Huntington High, the kid at South Charleston, we are getting a kid from Parkersburg and Poca has two D1 kids on their roster.

There is and always has been pretty good basketball talent in this state for its size.. The notion that our kids can't play is garbage!

Allen Osborne coaches rather similar to Dan's style. Fundamentals , shooting, free throws , all are stressed. Maybe less 3 pointers, and oh yes defense. Gotta play tenacious D when you play for Osborne.

If Dan can bring home either or both of the Poca 2 , it'll be huge. We could have the most WV laden D1 team in over 30 years.

Teams coming together, Dans gotten rolling, and their having fun. How cool is it people from the state can be proud of their natives in a D1 setting !

I believe the in state kid we signed is not from Parkersburg, but from Wheeling Park, and is having a really good year so far. Hopefully, he will help us up front next season in trying to replace the loss of Kelly. Good points on the other in state kids, I had completely forgotten about the Eastern Panhandle kid at Clemson. Sure glad we got another good talent from that region: Burks!!

Right and how about CJ Burks? Pretty good looking Fr as well as Browning and Elmore. Hope Bledsoe does as good as these.

You're right.. I'm not sure why I said Parkersburg lol.. And yeah replacing Kelly's production is gonna be a multi player job

If Coach Dan is looking to add another solid Indiana guy....he may want to look at Noblesville senior forward, JOHN KISER. He is a 6'5" big body player, runs the floor well, handles the ball well, rebounds with power, shoots the 3-ball well, great moves to the hoop & guards the opposing teams best player. He wants the ball when it's crunch time. Watched him get about 85% of the Millers points in a double-overtime loss to Zionsville, last Friday night. Western Michigan & other MAC schools recruiting him hard. It would not surprise me to see Purdue, Butler & IU get into the hunt.

HerdZilla22 in Zionsville, Indiana for a short time.....

Lo, Zilla, you are echoing what my wife's cousin, MU grad who lived in Zionsville, until moving recently to Indianapolis, has been saying. He said Danny needs to start scouting the greater Indianapolis area a little harder cause there's a ton of talent there. Should be something to explore, especially with the great career Ryan Taylor is having. I know I wouldn't mind us hooking up some games in that part of the Midwest, we have had games before, in Greg White's tenure, I believe, with schools like Evansville and Butler. Also have play Bobby Knight's Hoosiers there during John Taft era. Hopefully, Danny will explore IU and/or Purdue as possible "money game" foes.
