On the flip side the only reason I'm not for more restrictive laws is the old give an inch and they'll take a mile adage. Id be fine with more thorough background checks, longer waiting period, magazine capacity restrictions, etc. High capacity mags could be restricted to stamps like silencers and fully auto firearms currently are. Wouldn't have an issue with that.
What I'm not fine with is dorks wanting restrictions on guns because they appear a certain way, or banning semi auto firearms because I own a few and they're fun to shoot.
What I'm also not fine with is agreeing to something more restrictive that is nothing more than a stepping stone to even more restrictive governance.

My heart goes out to the people of Dayton and El Paso tonight. The only way America will survive, and the only way we will ever stop these mass shootings, the opiod epidemic, and everything else the ails our land is by a moral awakening—a moral awakening that removes the blame from each other, and places it where it rightfully belongs- on evil and the fallen nature of humanity. Let us not look to the White House or the hallowed halls of Congress for solutions. Hollywood is already bankrupt. The Titans of Wall Street offer no help either. May we look to the Church and may we all bow our hearts and seek the face of Almighty God for help in these desperate times.

The Dayton kid grew up in a very solid family - mom and dad at home, both worked solid jobs, and they were Christian. Hell, mom has pictures on her Facebook page of Christian displays she keeps around the house. Did that family not pray hard enough for your god?
If you god was too fvcking lazy to get off of his ass during the Holocaust, what makes you think praying to him over a few hundred people being killed over the last decade in these highly publicized mass shootings is going to somehow motivate him to stop this?
