I predicted a collapse between 6-12 months after the last freedom bird was wheels up, but didn't think it would begin this early.

KABUL—The U.S. intelligence community concluded last week that the government of Afghanistan could collapse as soon as six months after the American military withdrawal from the country is completed, according to officials with knowledge of the new assessment.
American intelligence agencies revised their previously more optimistic estimates as the Taliban swept through northern Afghanistan last week, seizing dozens of districts and surrounding major cities. The new assessment of the overall U.S. intelligence community, which hasn’t been previously reported, has now aligned more closely with the analysis that had been generated by the U.S. military.

On multiple occasions in recent days, government forces surrendered to the Taliban, leaving behind convoys of Humvees and stockpiles of weaponry, including artillery pieces, mortars and heavy machine guns.

U.S. intelligence experts had believed the government of President Ashraf Ghani, who is slated to meet President Biden in Washington on Friday, could survive as long as two years once the U.S. withdrawal is completed. That is roughly the same interval that elapsed between the U.S. withdrawal from Vietnam and the fall of Saigon in April 1975.
The latest view of intelligence analysts and senior U.S. military officials, however, is that the government of Afghanistan and its capital, Kabul, could fall between six to 12 months after American forces depart, according to officials

Some ANA and ANP forces are surrendering without a fight. Fvcking assholes. ANP laying down is no surprise. We did an OK job training and supplying ANA but ANP are nothing but unimaginably corrupt pedophiliac scum.

Good Reuters article here.

The NDS is putting in some work though.

This MFer is wearing a pair of $300 Crye G3's. Only our SOF get Crye's...and apparently NDS. He better stay in the fight if he was given cool shit like this. Grab you a pair if you want to show off next time you go to the range. I have 3 sets thanks to you taxpayers.

Pakistan played both sides. They allowed border crossings, cross-border indirect (mortar, rocket, anti-aircraft), fire, and gave aid to the taliban (food and medical). All while taking our money for use of their ports and roads. We could only pursue taliban elements to the border, taliban had no rules constraints.

So this doesn't surprise me at all.

Not sure what will happen but, history tends to repeat itself sometimes. I am guessing we will be back in there in some form or another.

I have a feeling we(USA) are going to get punched in the mouth sooner rather than later. you can kind of feel it coming.

There are shit takes and there are shiiiit takes. This is the latter. (His second tweet).

And there's always dicks like this with no skin in the game.

You think we will end up back in there?

Yes and no.

I doubt we'll have conventional bases and forces again. But, our IC has a major print that won't be abandoned. Hell, DLI quadrupled it's Dari and Pashto courses over the last 20 years. All those Terps? They're now informants, still beggingfor citizenship.

That Title 50 account is about to go wild.

Some people think we can drone our way into victory, that we don't have to have boots on the ground because of technology. That's complete bullshit.

Missiles fired from drones have killed wedding parties, hospitals, killed civilians in general. That's what happens when you don't have a spotter. It's basically a rocket strike, not a missile.
