You cannot win the national championship every year. We remain one of the top programs in the country. Cannot wait for next season.
football was a total disappointment.
As predicted.
Men’s basketball is rapidly heading down the toilet,
Yep. Pretty much going as predicted. The team will finish somewhere between 4th and 8th in the league and roll the dice in what will hopefully be the last CUSA tournament we play in.
and even though I haven’t checked the women’s side, I doubt they have won more than a few games.
They are 4-4, but two of the four wins are over Div II teams. They have one more game before conference play. They aren’t any good.
We are never good at baseball
Nope. Schedule is out, BTW, not much different from previous years. Going to Florida for spring break, play the usual locals in non conference (EKU, Ohio, WVU, Virginia Tech, Morehead State, Ohio State). Pre-season home series is Merrimack (never heard of it). Home CUSA is Rice, Middle, LA Tech, UNCC, and FAU). Won’t make the CUSA tournament.
Yep.
Women’s softball has not been as good as it used to be.
No idea.
Last check, volleyball had four wins.
Finished the season 9-16, failed to make the CUSA tournament.
Are there any Marshall sports left to look forward to this school year? I’m depressed.
All we have is the same MBB meme we have been living on for the whole DD era. “One time, from 4th place, we got hot for 8 days, it might happen again.” Really CUSA looks so weak, it isn’t as crazy as it sounds. WKU is probably the class of the league. UAB has a nice record, but hasn’t beat anybody good. Same for LA Tech.
Then we can yap about football. The Amen Chorus will blame the players, and/or the previous administration, and assure you that, unless he is selected to coach the Jaguars, Alabama, or be commander of the Space Force next year, (big programs are always looking for 7-6 first year coaches), we will be just awesome. Someday. The adults will try to have a rational discussion of the needed changes to our football program.
