AP Poll

You guys realize Tulsa put up 500 yards on Ohio State this season, right? And that OSU led Tulsa 27-20 with 3:10 left in the game? Tulsa scored with about 7 minutes left and OSU answered with a TD drive and a pick six to get their separation.

It’s not a good look when you’re arguing how Ohio State wouldn’t struggle with Tulsa, when they literally did struggle with Tulsa.

I was going to post the exact same thing earlier, but I thought that might be too much like an elephant sitting in a redwood tree.

Any G5 school in the playoff is a welcome outcome, regardless of how that game ends.
This crew claims not to be a member of the “G5”, instead making up some non-existent thing called the “Power 6”. This crew claims that the playoffs don’t exist, proclaiming, get this, UCF as the 17 “national champions” because they beat a box of cupcakes and a disinterested four loss Auburn team. They actually say that. Some even believe it.

There is a G5, but as far as any fan of any G5 program goes, there are our four friend (SBC, MWC, MAC, and CUSA) and our enemy. The AAC. The conference of idioicy.

Ridicule it, every chance you get.

P6 of course is just a marketing tool.....but the fact is it has been the best G5 conference during its existence and it is not even close. The AAC has sent a team to a NY6 game 6 of 8 years of its lifetime and is pretty much a lock to send a 7th one this year. And it has won 3 of those games so they have represented the G5 well.

Pretty damn good for a "conference of idiocy".......your mis-spelling of the word "idiocy" being ironic and funny.

And of course, the NCAA accepted UCF's National Championship so a non-issue there.

But with its 3 strongest teams leaving (and SMU and Memphis having 1 foot out the door), the MWC and SBC should be the top G5 conferences going forward.

I always thought Marshall was a better choice for the original AAC than Temple or Tulane....and looking back would have been way more competitive than ECU.

In other words, a lie.

Laughable.

Power 6 isn't true, so its idiotic. Remember Arsecco said "we are doubling down". So, in a year or two North Texas @ Tulsa = Alabama @ Tennessee or Ohio State @ Wisconsin.

I will be laughing at the AAC. You MUST accept what you are told.

And of course, the NCAA accepted UCF's National Championship so a non-issue there.
Actually, an obscure NCAA rule "recognizes" any of darn near 25 outfits opinions on the national championship UCF won one of them.

But, NOW UC is somehow bitching about being left out of playoffs that its idiot commissioner said were not important, and not real, since UCF, and not Alabama, was the "real national champion".

Laughable.

Roll Tide.

You didn't get the memo. Arseco says "we are doubling down". Power 6!!!! THE AMERICAN!!!!!!!!!

I will be laughing at it. The way to defeat things people say that are so stupid that they do not deserve a response is to laugh at them.

Laugh at the AAC. A joke.

The AAC 1.0 and 2.0 is based on ONE LIE. Being in a place, and being SIGNIFICANT IN the place are the same thing. If you buy that lie, you buy the AAC.

So I guess you consider all marketing a lie....got it

The results in terms of NY6 games confirm their status as the best G5 conference

If you think it is so easy to get the NCAA to recognize a National Championship, pull out Marshall's best Div 1A team and go at it

And yes, that year's title is split....my in-laws went to Alabama so Roll Tide indeed

I don't think currently UCs resume is that of a Top 4 team, the team getting shafted IMO is Oklahoma

What "lie" is the AAC based on? Sam, your opinions have no credibility when you ignore SCOREBOARD, whether it is 6 of 8 NY6 games or the NCAA recognizing UCF's share of the National Championship

You seem awful bitter for a guy who never wanted Marshall in the AAC but obsess over them like a love struck teen girl.

Most years SBC 2.0 should be better than AAC 2.0 after about 2023, find some joy in that.

The Colley Ranking System:

2017 - Colley ranked UCF 1st (fake national champions), and NCAA acknowledged them as being the national champ. Of course, NCAA also acknowledged the real national champion based on the real game that was played between the top two teams.

To put this in proper context, in 2012, Colley ranked Notre Dame 1st (fake national champions), despite the fact that Alabama beat Notre Dame 42-14 in the real game that was played between the two schools.

To further put this in proper context, in 2016, Colley ranked Alabama 1st (fake nation champions), despite the fact Clemson beat Alabama 35-31 in the real game that was played between the two schools.

Anybody that claims a championship based on a foolish Colley Ranking system would be deemed a fool. Having a parade through Mickey Mouse world only cements that notion.

I guess it ended up being good for Wal-Mart, who ended up selling a couple hundred t-shirts for the delusional fanbase, those few hundred that actually attend their home games.

I guarantee you Ohio State and Alabama wouldn't barely beat Navy and Tulsa. Think about it, we pounded Navy and there is no way we would beat Ohio State or Alabama. For that reason and others I say UC is not close to sniffing a 4 team playoff invite. Want to run with the big dogs you have to win all your games against poor teams in a convincing fashion. They have a solid team and deserve a NYD6 game but that is all.
Sports math doesn’t always make sense, that’s why they play the games.

LOL....credibility lost on "real" and "fake"....the NCAA did not list those terms in the official record book.

THERE IS NO "NCAA record book" that some editor or official decides to include or not include this or that team or thing in. The NCAA simply lists any team that any of nearly 2 dozen self-appointed whatevers decide were "national champions". The idiotic Colley Matrix, which MichiganHerd fully explained in his awesome beat down of you above, included. Over the years, that list of is full of fake "champions". No one but UCF's tiny fanbase cares.

Alabama won the national championship. That simple.

Roll Tide.

But, again, that misses the point totally. UC's conference, and specifically its idiot commissioner says that the playoffs don't matter, and aren't real. The Colley Matrix, or any of the other 20 some idiot opinions the NCAA will list, are what matters. But NOW UC wants to bitch and moan about being left out of playoffs, its OWN COMMISSIONER says are not real.

It, and he, should shut their pie holes.

Again Sam, if you think it is sooo easy to get the NCAA to recognize a National Champion, go for it.

The Colley Matrix is far from idiotic (hey you spelled it correctly this time), it was one of the mathematical tools used in the BCS era (and is still accepted by the NCAA today). The idiotic part is the room full of P5ers sipping Dr Peppers that select teams for the invitational using only their opinion, not objective measurements (like the Colley matrix). I believe there would be fewer issues with a more BCS type approach.

Alabama certainly won a share of that National Championship...Roll Tide....as did UCF....Charge On

I agree with you on UC's lack of qualifications for what the invitational is looking for and agree Aresco has been a very poor commissioner the past 5 years and now his conference will take a couple of steps down.

MichiganHerd explained it to you.

I get it now. You are a UCF troll.

No one here, and very few people in Orlando, care about your silly claims and fake championship.

Go fight with your betters on a Florida or FSU board. Troll.

AND

ROLL TIDE

I remember back in December of 1999. The Herd had just defeated BYU in a meaningless bowl game in downtown Detroit, to finish undefeated with a 13-0 record. I can't recall if the NCAA recognized the Herd as the national champion, but I do recall a Herald-Dispatch article written by the famous Chuck Landon, who declared the Herd as national champions that year. Of course, Florida State was acknowledged as champs across the country that year. Unlike the 261 UCF fans, I don't recall a parade down Hal Greer boulevard, nor do I remember any national championship t-shirts being sold at the Kmart in Barboursville.

But, if you want to go with your Colley national title, then so be it. I laughed back in January of 2018 when I thought it was just a weird internet joke making its rounds through the world wide net, and I laughed harder when I saw the 261 fans actually celebrating it as such. I never thought I would laugh again in November of 2021, but here it is on Herd Nation. . . one of the 261 still gloating over the Colley achievement.

This is America 2021. If UCF wants to declare themselves National Champs in football, go for it. You can be anything you want.
Just be sure to use the correct pronouns and apologize for building your stadium on Seminole land.
