My wife and I work on the Alaskan Pipeline here in Prudhoe Bay. Our son is DE Ryan Bee. We work a rotating two weeks on and two weeks off. Thankfully our management realized the importance of us getting to the games, they allowed us to tweek our schedules to get to 4 home games, OH, FL AND TENN.
We coundn't make them all and cannot make this Friday.
Although we WILL Bee there in spirit. Here on the North Slope we have friends from all across the country doing the same type of schedule. My wife and I are known for our Kelly Green!!!
I want you all to know that there will be a ton of folks here Friday morning at 8:00am (AK time) watching the Thundering Herd!!! I like to call us the Herd Arctic Fan Club!!!! We are located on the Arctic Ocean so why not. We have GOT to be the farthest fan base from Huntington!
Ryan tells the team good luck for us and I think they feel it's pretty cool.
Actually minus 35 right now, so yeh PRETTY COOL
We made a lot of great new friends this year and look forward to meeting more. WE WILL be at the bowl game.

Awesome! I follow Ryan on Twitter. He is a very impressive youngster & you should be proud! I am sure the team is fired up for "The Moonshine Throwdown" this week. Thanks for letting us know about the H.A.F.C. - the Thunering Herd are Everywhere!!
Let's Go Herd

Mr Bee - that is awesome! Driving the Dalton to Prudhoe Bay is right at the top of my bucket list. Would never have imagined there was a group of Herd fans up there. If I manage to make the dream trip happen next year I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for you guys and your kelly green!

Wonderful support for your son and for the team. Ryan had became a force to be reckoned with on defense. Glad he chose to play his college football for Marshall University. May the Bee family have a blessed Thanksgiving.

Happy thanksgiving to you both. maybe we'll see you art the bowl game. I'f
So, I'll introduce myself.

I'm not in the Arctic right now...I'm in the deep south: Anchorage. But I've been to Barrow, Deadhorse (airport), and Kotzebue a number of times. Does that make me a member of the Arctic Fan Club?

Hello everyone!
Thanks for all the great responses. When Ryan first committed to Marshall he told me it felt like home. From the first time we got there we knew what he meant. Every trip to Huntington has been a blast. It's so fun to meet genuine folks that welcome you.
Another awesome time is when you go to away games. We kind of adopted a motto, "find some GREEN you find some FRIENDS".
I wanted to mention the Dalton Highway, although it is supposed to be quite the adventure (we have never driven it) at the end comes the town of Deadhorse. It is very sparse at best. The biggest disappointment for people who make the drive is that all the accessible land between the town and the ocean is leased by the oil companies. No badge. No entry. So yo can't see the Arctic Ocean.
Hey Shines, as far as I'm concerned, an alumni in AK. OF COURSE YOUR A MEMBER. LOL
My wife and I wish you all the best Thanksgiving possible!!!
I mentioned to Ryan about the QB reply earlier!!! He chuckled and said, OH YEH THAT'S THE PLAN!!! I also mentioned he is over due for a pick at the line. :) That was the coach Dad part.
Gooooooo HERD!!!!!

Ok JB, you get the honor. For 3 years, my daughter and grandson lived in Kodiak. USCG assignment. He was only a baby but I'd get pictures of him in his Marshall attire. Now they live in FL., surrounded by Alabama fans. ha Talk about extremes. ha

GO HERD!!!
