seems best for the Herd (keeping Access Bowl hope alive) for an Irish beat down...

seems good for G5 for Temple beat down...

I dont feel like there's any combination of W-L's by Toledo, Boise, Memphis, Houston, or Temple that gets us an access bowl. Any of those teams at 2 losses gets an access bid over a 1 loss Herd, and there's no way they ALL get to 3 losses.

Doesn't matter, we have zero shot at the access bowl. I'm rooting for Temple.

not true at all

- we had a loss early in the season (much better than a late loss like last season)
- we have a P5 victory (missing from last season)
-Memphis has to play Navy, @ Houston, and @ Temple
-Houston has to play Cincy, Memphis, and Navy
-Temple likely not win tonight still has Memphis
-Toledo still has NIU, @ BGSU, WMU, and MACC

if the AAC teams take care of each other we just need Toledo to lose a game and we are right in the middle of the conversation. Memphis likely needs two losses to get knocked out, but have 3 tough games (2 on the road) to go.

it is quite possible for Marshall to sneak in with quality wins over WKU and LA Tech in the CUSAC... and help

Either way is good. I always like rooting for the little guy but for us to have a shot at the access spot, Temple has to lose.

What you guys may be forgetting is it has to be a champion for the G5, so Lets say Memphis stays undefeated until AAC champ game but plays Temple who has lost 3 because the take a slide after close loss to ND, but Temple wins CC game, it doesn't matter that Memphis is only a 1 loss team.

I still think any shot for us to get back in the conversation is very, very low. I think the fact that Temple is on one side and Memphis and Houston are on the other, the likely hood of their champion having more than 2 losses is remote, but it could happen. Then if Toledo gets upset by Bowling Green in the MACC, and we win out including the CUSAC game, I think we would be in the discussion. Again a lot of things would have to go our way.

I've always wondered why this is left out of all the talks. You have to be a conference champ. If there are upsets in the championship games these teams are eliminated from the conversation. Remember a few years back when Houston was undefeated and ranked highly and lost to an average Southern Miss team in the CUSA Championship? One loss Houston wouldn't even be in the equation under the present set up.

That being said, we need to worry more about the next three games on our schedule than we need to worry about our slim hope for an access spot. Last year was a perfect lesson in how a team can get caught up in all the hype and forget to play the next game.

This point is so dead on, talk all you want about Memphis, Houston and Temple only 1 gets a look at the end of the season. Boise might not get by SDSU in that league and who knows about the MAC, win out and get in the discussion.

Purdue's win over Nebraska yesterday will bump up our SOS a little.

Losing like they did to Notre Dame will help them secure the access slot.

I would recommend Marshall fans stop eyeing the Access Slot. I don't want to see Iowa/Marshall.

So basically, stop eyeing the best bowl game we can get? Yeah, good idea...

Only root for ND if they play ISIL or Miami, OH

Root for ISIL over Little Miami

and now Toledo is down..... i'm tellin ya there's a chance........

Yes, we have the proverbial snowball's chance in the eyes of the Sacred Committee of Awareness

In the real world, we don't have an SOS chance in Hell

I think maybe it was "Marshall football - we play for backdoors!" until someone realized how that would read on a billboard.
