This explains why Birdsong locked into every pass and receiver he tried to complete a pass. This makes sense, he could not turn his neck or shoulder due to injury, thus only locking in at the the target everybody including my 7 year old daughter recognized.

What I saw from a true freshman QB who has has not played in over a season and a half is someone who worked on what the defense gave him, went through his reads and made good decisions. Regardless of the competition he did what a good QB is suppose to do. yes he did try to thread the needle a few times but in a game situation did a very good job.

What impressed my the most is how he managed the game and how he worked his reads. I saw a better command of the offense and in play adjustments with Litton than what I have seen with Birdsong so far.

If he got hurt at Ohio, why did the coaching staff not take him out when he got hurt?

No matter the opponent you want a qb to make reads before the play, then progress through their reads, then make an accurate pass. It is an added plus that he has a pretty quick release and he shook some defenders out of their shoes when he ran the ball. I was pretty excited when they said he was starting but the guy in front of me at the game informed me that birdsong wasn't dressed. He said it was decided this past tuesday that litton would start instead of just coming in after a few series.

It also explains his inability to speed up the offense when we needed to.

I was pulling for him. He's a ginger. When the lights came on though, he just didn't have it. For the record, I said the same thing AFTER the Purdue game.

But if Birdsong doesn't get hurt does Litton even play yesterday? And does Birdsong go back in once he is 100% and Litton go back to riding the pine? If that's the case and Birdsong gets to start again then why not play Gunner for this game? He could have won that game yesterday.

If Birdsong had his shoulder injured during the OU game and didn't request to be taken out because of the impairment - then he needs to sit for a long time!

No competitor wants to sit. Every competitive athlete I've ever dealt with always thought they could fight through the injury/pain.

It's the trainer or team physician's job to make that call.

How could they not tell it was hurting him in practice before the OU game? Or once he was in the game. Obviously something happened. I heard he has an MRI this week. Hope it's nothing bad. We need 2 capable QBs in case Litton goes down
