Saw Coastal Carolina's baseball stadium and field today for the first time. Holy hell, Marshall is going to have some catching up to do.

And I don't even want to start on App State's field...

Coastal had that stadium built before they win their Natty.

I think great scenery and a great view gonna long way. Look at PNC Park. The stands, the outfield seating, the concourse are all average for MLB. The skyline and view over the outfield are just fantastic.

Rick Harrison: "Best I can do is Huntington and the crappy looking part of the Ohio River."

We don't need to build a stadium like Coastal... But we should have a facility at least on par with teams in the SoCon.

The idea that we will build this phenomenal stadium on an old steel mill site and then use it to play MU baseball and lure a minor league team is idiotic. Minor league baseball is contracting, not expanding, (just like the Huntington area) and MU doesn't need a huge costly building for its baseball team.

Find a location near campus that works, build a nice, new, small stadium with an adjacent/connected building for locker rooms and indoor batting cages, maybe a small weight room. We did it for soccer, and it works perfectly. Do the same for baseball.

The original plans called for 3500 seats. Way too many. Go for around 1500-2000 and be done with it. One caveat, go with all chair backs and make it as top notch as you can.
The school needs to hire and design and architecture firm, layout plans, get a cost to build and go from there.
Initially, they had everyone put in what they wanted and got an estimate. That's why we were something like 8 Million over budget. They did it bass ackwards.

That stadium is hardly modest. It’s on par with a lot of power 5 stadiums that I’ve been to.
This?

You then posted MU's soccer stadium, which was built over an aging fieldhouse, and while it didn't bring in a minor league team, it did win MU a National Championship.
So, while it may not be what others want, it is possible to have a huge impact on the program.
