I like Dan and the job he has done but it is painfully obvious we have no inside game at all. We consistently get beat in the paint and out rebounded by teams that can play under the basketball. We are a one trick pony jacking up 3 point shots and if we go cold we have no other options.

Dan has done a good job with the program so far but he needs to get guys in here that can play in the paint, that can get rebounds and that can play against physical defenses. Until he does Marshall is a one trick pony.

I don’t disagree. I think we are missing Peneva big time. When our defense broke down and people drove the lane at least he challenged the shot. Right now people are going right to the basket with little resistance. We don’t have any interior defense.

We're is our big west Virginia center at? Come on guys get out there look for one because this staff isn't looking for a good to great center.

I have told you again and again that the D'Antoni MO is chuck treys and avoid rebounding and defense. It is not going to change anytime soon.

That what we do. I've routinely seen us chuck up shots and not follow our shots and take off down the court. Its like we don't even try to follow our shot or box out to rebound. We live and die by the 3.

And shooting 30 per cent or lower from 3, like at OU and Maryland, is a guarantee for disaster, and DEFEAT!! Especially, when the Coaching staff places little or NO emphasis on other phases of the game, like DEFENSE and Rebounding.

Take any 3 out of 4 of the Herd's bigS: Sustic, Byers, Bennett, and Williams. Put their scoring and rebounding stats, any 3 of the 4, together in today's game and they would NOT equal the production of OU's leader scorer and rebounder in this game!! PATHETIC!!!!!

Reality is difficult for many to accept. After the Maryland defeat, many were still resistant to it. Now with a blow out to a MACer, more will accept it. In a few more weeks, all but the die hards will understand what this team is, and what the deal is here.

The delusional talk needs to end. We make ourselves look foolish.

Okay gentlemen, let's all hold the phone a little bit here. I just want to remind everyone that Danny had NO IDEA that Penava was going to lose his mind and declare for the NBA Draft, sign with an agent, and end up not being part of the program. He, as all of us would have, recruited and planned that this team would have one of the most productive big men in the country returning for his senior year.

Clearly, the guys we have on the roster right now have a REALLY long way to go... Sustic and Meyer were neither huge contributors on their JUCO teams - they were late in the game projects in response to the surprise departure of Penava. We were planning on having Bennett spell Penava for 10-12 minutes per game, continue to learn the system, and (most importantly) continue to drop weight.

As hard as it is to land productive big men at Marshall (pretty long gap between Penava and VanHoose)... especially when you find out that you are in dire need of one in June. I'm inclined to give Danny D a hall pass on the "we've got no big men" issue. Zion had already committed to Duke - and we probably weren't on his radar.

I will echo the comment about Danny not knowing. Ajdin did not consult with ANYONE on the coaching staff. Just came in on day and dropped a bomb....." i have signed with an agent." Didn't say a word ahead of time to his best friend on the team, Jannson.

Fair points and the loss of Peneva can’t be discounted. But, this team seems to lack the cohesiveness from last year. At times they move the ball really well and execute the offense but once they hit a draught it looks like one on one ball. The team defense is basically non-existent except in small spurts or against very inferior competition.

Based on all of the offensive and defensive efficiency metrics Peneva was by far our most important player on last year's team. Our efficiency ratings on both ends of the court were much lower with him out of the lineup. Right now our team is the same as last year minus Peneva and it has shown in the results of the two games against good teams. The new guys are going to have to step up and fill that void on both ends of the court or this year's team will be lucky to finish in the top group of CUSA and certainly won't be going to the NCAA or NIT tournaments this year.

I was really looking forward to having Penava and Janson together, wish he would have stayed one more year!

Yep...us too. Jannson was very hurt that Adjin not only didnt confide in his best friend but didnt even discuss his options with ANY of the coaching staff. Jannson learned a good lesson over the Ajdin situation.

I was very excited about this team before the season started but I am very disappointed so far. We are playing very selfishly on offense. Lots of one on one and dribbling instead of moving the ball. Elmore settling for 12 foot fade aways instead of getting to the rim as he did last year. When we go small we have zero interior defense or rebounding. This is where Penava was a great asset. Our guards are getting beat routinely. The good news is that we do have skilled players and we can get this corrected if Danny makes some changes.
