Multiple law enforcement officers were shot and wounded Sunday morning in Baton Rouge, authorities said.

Sgt. Don Coppola with the Baton Rouge Police Department said the wounded officers were taken to an area hospital for treatment. Their conditions, as well as the total number of officers shot, were not immediately available. He was unsure whether the wounded officers are all members of the Baton Rouge Police Department.

Coppola said the shooting took place around 9 a.m. near Airline Highway and Old Hammond Highway. Authorities have since secured the scene, he said.

Still cant find two of the suspects. One is known to be dead but the other two are on the run.

I guess you haven't seen where the Baton Rouge Police violently broke up a peaceful rally.

If you don't let me March in Peace, stuff like this happens. The police shows remorse when they kill us, so I'll be showing no remorse when a few cops get killed

How so?? People are upset and tired of this shit so until the Police change their militaristic ways and stop always going for the gun, more incidents will happen. You can peaceful March and hold rallies for change only so many times. Ever hear the term "Who don't listen must feel" well that's what's going to continue to happen until the Police start holding their own accountable for their Actions. Baton Rouge police has a history of being crooked and treating the poor(Black and White) citizens of the city like shit. Last week they had a peaceful March and the police came in with Batons and starred beating people up and arresting them. Well this is the next step. And I'm surprised this didn't happen sooner.

So it's poor lives matter? Next step is murder? No wonder this country's going to shit. You and others think killing people is the answer

This is tragic. I lived a few miles from where this took place back in the 80's for a couple of years. Prayers for the families of the fallen officers and the city of Baton Rouge!

Who said I was advocating murder.

I said this is what happens when you don't listen to the people. Not come back with a heavy hand.

I mean not everyone can live like white people and just sweep all the society issues under a rug like it's not happening. I'm still waiting to hear a candidate to talk about the Heroin epidemic that is killing so many young white Americans.

First of all, most cops are not gun guys by nature. Second, the gun for a cop is a last resort weapon. It is not a primary means of apprehension for them. Many cops are not even great shots and rarely pull a gun out.

Finally, I am guessing nearly 90% of blacks that are killed are killed by fellow blacks. And, a tiny fraction of a number are killed by cops. Frankly, most of the ones that got shot by cops brought it upon themselves by either being criminals or being stupid or both.

If you Don't let me march in peace Stuff like this happens. Sounds like advocating murder to me

Good news Fever, blacks have now killed more police officers this year than police officers have killed unarmed blacks. Solid win for you I guess.

Once again what does blacks killings black have anything to do with Cops flat out lynching blacks??

And if 2 cops have someone held down on the ground and even after tazering him twice STILL needs to pull out a gun and shoot someone at such a close range. Maybe they shouldn't be cops.

Fever - you are totally clueless as to what law enforcement officers go through on a daily basis. The only thing that stands between you and total chaos is law enforcement. As a former law enforcement officer I can assure you that the last thing any of us wants is to be in a position where anyone is going to be injured or killed , civilian or officer..the idea is to leave home and come back in one piece.

That's cool you say that. The thing is that's not the argument. The argument is good cops not holding bad cops accountable. Cops that are scared of the job. Cops who become revenge because of being bullied all their life. And not seeing videos like the Chicago case and in Baton Rouge and not condemning the actions of the cop. That is what's the problem. Cops aren't cops anymore their an occupying operation in black and Latino neighborhoods.

Convicted Felon with gun in pocket. Hello.

I guess you didn't see the video. They shot him before they found the gun. And that charge was from almost 20 years ago. Wouldn't even show on a standard background check.

Maybe you should watch the videos instead of once again white justifying shit

I did watch it. And, I am not going to judge as to what I would do in that situation.

Regardless, the moron put himself in that position.

Really how? By selling CDs? Still don't know the charge of why they arrested in the first place

Another moron. The officer that shot said he saw the butt of the gun and saw the felon reach for the gun.

Idiot.

Sure, let's always believe the police, 2 people holding him down tazering him, beating on him. Pulls a gun puts it in his back and starts shooting.

Hell he had his hands up when they tackled him in the first place.

And after all of that they still decided to shoot him.

The police were called based on a report that Sterling had pointed a gun at someone. So, there was a suspicion of a gun in his possession. Once on the ground, the officer spotted the butt (and said he had a gun). Sterling continued to resist and gave the officers no reason to believe he wasn't going for the gun.

But go ahead and believe your moronic bulls**t.

Too bad the store owner is saying a different story. But the police is always right.

Do you even pay attention to political news? Seriously. The heroin issue came up in the January New Hampshire Democratic debate. http://www.refinery29.com/2016/01/1...ernie-sanders-democratic-debate-drug-question

Hillary has been talking about this since last year: http://www.nytimes.com/politics/fir...oses-10-billion-plan-to-combat-drug-epidemic/ http://www.unionleader.com/article/20150901/OPINION02/150909909/1004/opinion

And you is always wrong. The logged complaint was that Sterling had point a gun at someone (whether the store owner called a complaint in or not is immaterial). There is record of it.

Dufus.

The Dallas killings along with today play right into the hands of those suggesting "limiting" gun rights. IMO, It wont be long until we start reading stories and hearing opinions by law enforcement advocate groups that "time to consider changing gun laws". This will give congress cover.

Citizens being killed by a wacko is terrible. Cops ("Heroes") being killed by a wacko....unacceptable. Prepare yourself gun rights activists.

Yep. The Marxist in-charge has already been lightly beating that drum, and it will turn into a full-bore Neal Peart type drum solo after this.

As soon as every black in America is disarmed I might be willing to listen to a proposed restriction of gun rights. But since a good third of them are criminals that isn't going to happen.

All he had to do was do what the officers instructed him to do to begin with and none of what took place would have happened. But he decided for whatever reason to not follow the officers instructions and if you listen to the video you will hear ( prior to the shots being fired) one of the officers yell "gun" , they could see the butt end of the gun sticking out of his pocket. All Sterling had to do was comply with the initial commands keep his hands above his head and inform the officers he had a gun in his pocket. Unfortunately for Sterling he failed to follow instructions.

I am not saying what happened was right nor will I say it was wrong..but when you are told to do something by law enforcement , do it and save everyone a lot of grief.

Like I said the store owner said he did nothing wrong and that he was there selling CDs and everyone knew him. The cops story doesn't add up at all. But what doesn't matter White America says look the other way and sweep it under the rug.

And after tazering him twice, tackling him and 2 on 1 on the ground. You still can't control someone, you shouldn't be a cop. And don't give me that BS about "Being a Cop is a tough job!" That's what you signed up for. Nobody doesn't force anyone to be a cop.

**** the Pigs and all law enforcement across America. Keep doing what your doing and there will be more incidents like Dallas and Baton Rouge
