Beetlejuice loses.

CNN should be celebrating this. A step closer to having a full fledged communist in the mayor’s office.

Does that mean she will be going back to films? Great movie. Now maybe we will get a sequel.

I remember reading about the period when Richard Daley ran Chicago. He was the last of the crooked big city bosses but at least the city ran smoothly.

When is the last time you’ve been to Chicago?

Explain this “dumpster fire.”
Chicago's violent crime rate is 164% above the US average. The murder rate is four times above the national average, with other violent crimes being more prevalent than in the average other city.

In this way, Chicago is one of the most dangerous cities in the USA, although most crime is heavily concentrated in the most dangerous neighborhoods.

According to crime data, the majority of crime in this populous city is property crime, with these rates exceeding the national average by 52%. There is a 1 in 39 chance of becoming a victim of this type of crime, as opposed to 1 in 103 for violent crime.

The most commonly reported crimes in this category involve motor vehicle theft, and the second most common involve theft, with 566 cases per 100,000 people

--------------

From 2019 to 2020, violent crime went up all over the country. In Chicago, murders went up by more than 50%, largely due to Chicago’s illicit drug trade and gangs fighting over turf.

Mostly the parts of Chicago where the residents would be more likely to have vinyl flooring.

Downtown Chicago within the last year. I'm not referring to that. I'm referring to the crime and lack of public safety.

But you knew that already.

Should gang turf wars really go into the murder category? It’s like the hatfields and McCoys. Tit for tat feud.

Nashville has a higher violent crime rate than Chicago. Nashville must be a shithole, huh?

No, not really. There are a ton of other cities with higher violent crime rates including Nashville, Albuquerque, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, and the regulars on The First 48 (Memphis, St. Louis, New Orleans, Baltimore). If you haven't been there and haven't spent significant time there, you should stop trusting random media accounts. And as you mentioned, even though Chicago isn't one of the most violent cities in the country, the violence that they do have is far more sequestered in an area than in most cities.

Cities with higher property crime rate than Chicago: Lexington, Charlotte, Columbus, Cincinnati, Orlando, Savannah, Denver, Phoenix, Oklahoma City, Buffalo, Des Moines, Miami, San Antonio, Tulsa, Wichita, and about 40 other decent sized cities.

Chicago is a great city. The violent crime rate is hyper sensationalized. The property crime is far lower than places you'd like to live.

That you for arguing about literally everything.

It's wild to me a big part of why Ligthfoot lost is the spike in crime. So they elect a guy who arguably might be even more hostile to the police
