A win puts us in the championship 2 years in a row. A title and a bowl game win are in reach. We still have a shot at a 10 win season. Now go get it done Herd!

I wish our fan base was half of what Nebraska’s is. They are 3-8, no bowl game and playing last game of the year. The stadium is sold out and the place is electric.

Lincoln’s a tad bit bigger and more prosperous than Huntington. Their support is admirable

I don’t like how this one looks for us. They come in on a hot streak with an offense that is by far the best we have seen all year.

But maybe we can find a way to put it all together and win this thing.

If we lose, we will go 3-3 at home this year. Outside of the season we don’t speak of, I don’t recall that bad a recoded at home in a while.

Someone please explain how Marshall is favored to win against WKU? I fear our secondary will get roasted all day tomorrow.
The purpose of a line is to "balance the book", which is to say have an equal amount of money bet on both sides of a proposition. All sports gambling, if you go far enough into the math, the bettor is laying 10 to win 9. If the book is balanced, then the house does not care who wins. It makes that profit (the "vig") either way.

The purpose of a line is NOT to predict who will win, or what the score will be. Las Vegas' goal is to NOT CARE who wins. (This, BTW, is why people that tell you idiocy like "Vegas really needs the Bears" or "Vegas lost a lot last weekend", are idiots and don't know a darn thing about sports gambling.)

So, Group of Five football. How much money really is laid on a random game, lost among 50 others, including all the rivalry games, plus all the basketball neutral site tournaments, the pros, etc?

Not much.

So, Marshall. More fans than the rest of CUSA, combined. In a state with LEGAL SPORTS GAMBLING. On your cell phone, with most of the nine competing apps listing the Herd and that other team, at the top of the list of games, above the ranked teams; and offering specials and props to soak up the dumb money.

WKU. Several dozen fans. In a state where sports gambling remains illegal.

There are enough posters on this board to move the line on a Marshall game.

I always trust Sam to know what he is talking about with sports gambling. After all, he did suggest with all seriousness that WVU would be 60 point favorites over Marshall in basketball a few years ago. Obviously, he knows his stuff.

A few things to your points:

The same supposed hot streak and intimidation from a team who can win, was seen in FAU, and since they lost to MU, they haven't really been the same.

Sadly, MU didn't have a tough marquee matchuo to lose at home to. At least that horrible, terrible, no good, very bad season had a Heisman Trophy winner in it.

Been a Herd fan for almost 50 years That is the such a piece of shit post to say about a college /program that you supposedly root for
Agreed. this board is the Gimmie tribe personified. Give me wins, give me success, if not you suck.

That didn't age too well, now did it?

As to basketball, WVU isn't really very good at the WVU level this year. Probably round of 32 at best. Cannot rebound and too slow.

They would assream the Herd by whatever they cared to.

Can’t wait for the obligatory stadium is half full. We suck.
What do you want people to say?

The live gate fans, the people of Huntington and environs more or less, seem to get football more than a lot of others. The results of these games are not surprises. Asking people to spend $$ to see a team with WILL NOT win is a big ask.
