If you can bash and call the president names like no other before him it's open season on everybody else. Grow Trump's thick skin

To be fair, we've never had a President name-call, publicly insult and flat-out lie like this guy.

Little Marco, Lyin' Ted, Low Energy Jeb, Crazy Bernie, Pocahontas, etc.

Sometimes you reap what you sow.

When you reside in the world of "two wrongs make a right", I suppose this has relevance.

Also, only two examples? Trump easily out performs that in a single tweet storm. Do we really believe anyone casts more insults than Trump? Is anyone else in the same neighborhood? City? State? Country? Continent? World? Universe?

Let's be clear. Insults aren't productive. They're divisive and a poor method for discussion and especially leadership. IMO, it should be avoided. However, if someone is going to govern using that "leadership" style, then lets not go all feeling sorry when insults are applied in the other direction.

I am glad he is calling them out for the corruption and ineffective leadership. That guy in Baltimore is nothing more than a govt backed slum lord.

Democrats have done NOTHING to help black folks.

disappointing statement from someone who knows better....but I see you got your republican talking points this morning...

social security, Medicare, Medicaid, the civil rights act of 1964 and 1968, the voting rights act of 1965....there's a ton more. All were Democratic led legislation....taking place during democratic presidencies.

To be fair, many of these landmark pieces of legislation wouldn't have passed without republican congressional votes. But it was a different time - "right and wrong" was given more weight (at times) than "right and left".

Just wondering where you were back then when those statements were made. Im sure you made the same post

remember saying I thought she was a total and complete dumbass for making those comments.

What's the exchange rate for Hillary insults vs. Trump insults these days? Trump must have to employ thousands of insults for every one Hillary's.

Trump attacks everybody. He is not a respector of people at all. I thought with all the lies and things he has done he would be impeached. But that's not going to happen. The left couldn't keep him out of office and the right won't allow Trump to be impeached. Wanna replace Trump then beat him.

So was the 69 democratic convention in Chicago. Never has a party went that crazy like the pigs did.

Let me dumb this down for you some:

Making comments/name-calling about a person's ethics and belief system is entirely different than making fun of somebody for having an unattractive wife or mocking them for having a physical disability.

Clinton's comment ("basket of deplorables") reflects that group's poor ethics and values represented by their laughter and acceptance of the things cheeto says and does. Again, that's entirely different than name-calling based on physical characteristics.

It's not shallow to call people out for being shitty people.

well, trump won, so he's been in the public spot light just a bit more, so there's that.

You worship your Orange Jesus. You're part of that cult.

You do NOT support God and Jesus. You are their enemy.
you should know about cults.

The “all politicians lie” response is an exercise in mental gymnastics. There is no way a reasonable person can claim that the level that Trump lies and name calls is anywhere near the norm of politicians in general. The fact that you even have to use this excuse is telling. I challenge anyone to pick a single politician and challenge me head to head with Trump. You name the politician and state a lie or name call. I’ll reciprocate with one of Trump’s. After you’ve run out of examples I could continue with thousands more. That’s thousands. Think about that.

That's the scary part. About all the other politicians. They are backstabbers and wolves in sheeps clothing. Trump is not perfect, we know it. He is rough around the edges, we know it. He fights and name calls, we know it. We knew he was unconventional and a fighter to start with. Not perfect and an outsider and not polished political. But, you know what you get with Trump.

The others are FAR more dangerous and sneaky. With all their back room deals and backstabbing behind closed doors with their political machine at the expense of the American people.

I will take a Trump all day long.

Shouldn't you be asking who led the filibuster attempt, to block the Civil Rights act?
That's it....that's all you got? Yeah...we know, our own Senator Byrd.

Here's the last line in my post.....the one you omitted in your quote:

FIFY.

Which large group within a specific political party openly fought against the legislation again???

WTF!?! This will make three times I acknowledged the republicans role in the legislation.

However, the bill was a democratic legislation first conceived by JFK and then drafted and pushed through by LBJ - who lamented after the vote he feared what it meant for the future of the democratic party in the south. Those fears appear to have been accurate. A Southern Democrat in 1964 is most likely a Republican today.

Wrong. (again)

Most Dixiecrats returned to the Democratic fold, but you can believe whatever makes you feel better.

It was more than Byrd Chevy. the House Rules Committee tried to keep it buried.. The committee's chairman, segregationist Howard Smith from Virginia (D) , had allowed the bill to fester aimlessly.
