BIlly Graham dead at 99

He was a great man. Just read Just As I Am. I loved his books. I loved him as a preacher. A great man of God. A good and faithful servent

I believe his wife's parents were missionaries in China. I really feel hurt in my heart and I never met him

I have an awesome life. Couldn’t be happier.

I don’t mix politics with religion. Franklin is a heretic. False prophet.
nobody on here agrees with you. Maybe you should stick to something you know something about.

I'm not very familiar with Franklin. What makes him a heretic and false prophet?

He essentially says only Republicans will go to heaven. He thinks trump is God's man. That's why you are seeing the right wingers on here piss their pants over my comments.

After a quick search...."In the interview with Fox and Friends, Graham said that he’s “grateful” for the president and finds Trump to be an “honest” person"

Fail.

Franklin Graham looks like a jerk when he inserts himself into politics. Just like most evangelicals that insert themselves into politics. Want to be a Christian and be involved in politics as a Christian? Fight for the poor and the weak. Looking like a jerk isn't a good way to spread the Gospel.

Yep, because the secular humanists are doing a bang up job running things.

Graham was one of the best around . . . best bigots, that is.

Where should we start? Remember when he said that AIDS was "god's punishment/judgement?"

How about the anti-Semitic comments he made that were recorded during his talks with Nixon?

Best yet, we should probably discuss that pesky note he wrote Nixon urging him to use nukes to destroy the dikes that controlled flooding in North Vietnam. He gave no regard to the flooding that would kill thousands of women and children.

Are those enough to talk about or should we discuss more? Ahh! Religion, ain't it grand.

91% of Congress identifies as Christian. Every President but two has been Christian (arguably Jefferson and Jackson had no religious affiliation). So what were you saying?
Kennedy was catholic so include him in the not Christian category.

And before everyone attacks me it is a joke

Self identifying as anything is meaningless. This is especially true if you are a politician in a "christian" nation trying to get elected into public office, or a Scientologist on a message board claiming to be a Christian. Actions should be judged and not words.

In the same way that it is meaningless for a Billy Bob to pretend to understand any religion.

Please elaborate on your use of the term "christian" nation. Thanks.

Franklin helps feed starving children all over the world. He needs to stick to that. His father should be on Mount Rushmore

None of the Adams' clan was even remotely Christian. Monroe nor Madison ever claimed to be Christian. Out of the first 16 really only Washington and Van Buren had any real identifiable faith. Lincoln didn't start attending church regularly until late 1864.

Very few American presidents were orthodox believers.

Franklin may have stuck his foot in his mouth on Trump, but his organization, Samaritan's purse, has done more for poor folks all over the world than any other non-profit currently operating.

One of the charities I will donate to. They do a great deal of good work for those in need.

Bill Graham was a great man. I never listened to many preachers on tv. But, I would listen to Rev Graham.

I was more concerned when he was beating around the bush about Obama being a Muslim. The way he phrased his answer was not something his father would have done, and while I don't think he meant to be racially divisive many took it that way. Billy Graham stood up against segregation and for blacks.

And yes, his organization does do a ton of good. Obviously he believes in helping the poor and the weak; if the news people want to talk to him, he should tell them about that. Please leave the other crap alone. It just makes Christianity look bad.

Well, maybe we can agree that about 95% of Congress doesn't act very Christian. But like Franklin Graham said about Obama being a Muslim or a Christian, we have to take them at their word.
