Black Out t-shirts

No no, it's should I wear 2009 green or 2015 green.
Marshall Univeristy is officially making the game a "black out." Do you follow what Marshall wants or what you want?
This thread makes it much clearer to me why so many people wear their favorite orange, purple, blue, teal, red, gold, maroon, tie-dye, camo, Reds, Pirates, Bengals, Steelers, Bruins, rainbow, etc. I'll just wear my ol', stick-in-the-mud Kelly Green (an actual, authentic color of M.U.)
Black is a school color. There used to be a chart on the Marshall's site. Kelly green, White, Black, and whatever shade of brown Marco is are considered the school colors.
Where you're right, I just don't think people are getting the bigger picture here. It's more as an honoring to the plane victims. Wearing anything other than black on purpose is a smack in the face to everyone that was a part of crash.
Thanks, Bleeds. Where is this chart? The logo of Marco on my jackets has 2 shades of brown stitching in his face and is outlined in gray. Just wondering if these 3 colors are also official MU colors. My 2015 Phil Steele mag only lists Green and White.

some of you are acting like this is yet another "grass roots" effort for insert color-out for whatever reason. THIS IS AN OFFICIAL BLACKOUT FOR THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE PLANE CRASH.
There will be no black for a blackout (even though black is already on the uniforms) There will be no pink for breast cancer awareness. There will be only green and white no matter what the occasion. Come to think of it we should've never had that mcconaughay here either even though he brought attention to our story he was taking attention off of the play on the field during the spring game. By the way we should vote again if we are the big green or the thundering herd (or just the herd) bc the score there is 1-1. Maybe throw the judges nickname back in there too which might be fitting based on this board. Things change if not we wouldn't be where we are today and we might not even be the thundering herd. Not all changes are good but they aren't all bad either. If the university wants to have a blackout for the anniversary of the crash lets support them and wear black. Who knows they may start a new tradition that is unique to marshall that can be carried on for generations.
Would it be alright with you all if, under my black and green for this game, I wear gold and blue undershorts? The excitement of Herd games often leads to a little "fallout", and I just can't bear to leave any brown stains on our beloved Herd colors, white and green. I confess that during my army days I did manage to leave my share of such stains on my army issued undershorts, but, happily, they were "OD" green, and NOT "Kelly"!!
A green acre promotion to wear green for a school whose official colors are green & white...now there's a concept we can all live with. And, the Joan was an AWESOME sight in a sea of green. There is a tradition in the making that should be promoted.
It is a trim or secondary color, not a primary color. There is a difference. MU's primary colors remain green and white.
First we pizz off the fans who don't go to the games, and after we get them to go to the games we pizz them off because they don't dress right.
Hopefully, Bleeds' chart will show us all of the official primary and secondary colors of Marshall University.

Very funny there, -nificent...just who heads up this fashion-police crowd to prevent future pizz-offs of the fan base that won't come to games and won't dress right? Count me in with the small group that prefers (and actually wears) Kelly Green.

Maybe the concept of "alternate" jerseys has been lost on you. The idea is to flip the colors on the jerseys making the secondary colors the primary color on that uniform. Some of you act like this is a permanent change.
This outcry and complaining about wearing black is flat out ridiculous.
Also some of you complaining need to look at the day we are wearing black.
A tradition? To what wear green to a Marshall game? Wow what a novel concept. Here's one. How about Marshall fans stop being event fans. Last week was flat out embarrassing. They announced 18,473 but there may have been 15k in those seats.
Marshall fans are the very definition of event and fair weather fans.
Way to geaux, Geaux...I see the light and it comes in 6 delicious colors. Nothing quite like The Graphics Standards Manual to clear one's vision and bring everything into proper focus. I'm off to the Big City in a couple days to buy some black t-shirts (10 shirts X $16.00 each... If I'm lucky) to outfit my little group of fans for this special event. It's getting more and more expensive to be a Herd fan, but worth every red cent.

LOL. Not trying to bust your ballz ol boy. I like the black and gray gear, but ill be darned if they ever have a Brown Out. Maybe the band will also play the brown note.

I don't see the big problem, the team wants to wear black on a very special day/anniversary. The administration signed off on it. They made the announcement several months ago. You don't have to wear a black shirt w marshall/herd on it. It can be any type of black shirt/jacket/hoodie/poncho, whatever you have.
Just told my wife about buying those 10 black t-shirts...I'll be the guy wearing 2 black eyes!!
That has been a problem for years but i noticed last week they had the we are chant going on the screen then they had music blasting of course (not complaining about volume or type of music) so that's one mistake that you would think they should be able to coordinate better. Then the band tried to play at the same time then the music was lowered almost as if to see if the band was still playing then turned back up... my wife even laughed and asked if i noticed that one. Also how many times did they start to play 2 things at once over the pa system sat? Lol oh well like already stated there werent many people there but that stuff is just comical sometimes
