Less than 24 hours after the news site BuzzFeed reported that the president instructed his personal attorney to lie to Congress about his push for a Moscow real estate project, special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s office put out a statement firmly disputing the reporting.

THANK GOODNESS WE GOT THE TRUTH. ON THIS STORY RE SUBORNING PERJURY.

SO FAR NO DENIAL FROM SPECIAL COUNCIL ON ANY REPORTS FROM MAJOR NEWS ORGS.

I have a feeling old mueller is on thin ice when the new AG starts next week.

The mueller statement just says that the buzzfeed characterization of every bit of proof they offered in their article is basically wrong. But yeah keep waiting until someone else verifies it

In court documents, Cohen admitted that he briefed Trump on his ongoing negotiations with Russian officials about the proposed deal and said that he had consulted with Trump’s team before his false testimony before Congress. But those documents did not indicate that Trump played a direct role in his false testimony.

NOW IS THAT THE RUSSIAN DEAL THAT TRUMP HAS BEEN DENYING FOR 3 YEARS?
 
The real VICTIMS in this whole fiasco is the press. How dare Muellers office push back on fake news.

Dtard read something on BuzzFeed, which is the equivalent in reporting to Bleacher Report (where any hack with a keyboard can write stuff) and started shouting praises to Allah.

I’m curious how Buzzfeed broke the article. Was it...”Ten Things in the Mueller Report That Can Bring Down the Presidency,” listicle? What a freaking joke. Only in today’s world do you have to run every source through bias check sites and fact checkers before you know what to believe. And then you have to bias and fact check the fact check sites as well. These are the sites that consistently are rated among the highest for accurate ratings of news sources and fact checking...

I personally only allow sites that are rated “Highly” for factual reporting into my news feed. I’m okay with left-center, right-center, and “least-biased” rated sites.


The sad thing about all of this is it is obscuring the fact that yesterday morning before this Buzzfeed thing broke, there was enough factual reporting and indictments and prosecutions within the Trump inner circle to give a very clear picture about this presidency. A day later one story has shifted sentiment. But before you gloat too much, remember that in the era of the 24 hour news cycle, a story breaking today or tomorrow can shift everything again. Don’t be blinded by this fool’s gold. Trump is still the same lying megalomaniac that he was yesterday morning.

Kudos to Mueller for setting the record straight. But I have to say after reading a few of the comments here, I don’t know how you can think that “Mueller is on thin ice.” If anything it legitimizes his quest for the truth. You can’t have it both ways..you can’t believe this is evidence of a witch hunt by Mueller and use his own statement to verify it.

Fake news is real. Started with Dan Rather(probably before). Then, these left wing news agencies(i.e. mainstream media) run with it in order to try to get Trump. They are so far in the back pocket of the left it is not funny. There is no longer an independent press in this country.

Mueller had to report the news as being fake because if he didn't he was going to be summarily fired by the new Attorney General. If Mueller would have said nothing and the new AG says, Mr Mueller is this report true? And, if he says "yes" then that means his office leaked it. Mueller had to set the record straight it was either a false story or if it would have been true then he or someone leaked highly confidential material.

I have a feeling Mueller's day may be numbered with the new AG taking over. This bull shit is going to have to end.

Cronkite was actually the first with interjecting his opinion on the Vietnam war. Reporters went from sharing facts to giving their opinions and then it went to making shit up to get a story.

I think it is a witch hunt. Mainly because the Democrats lost and Comey got fired which pissed the FBI off. I have never really commented on Mr Mueller much. That being said, he had no choice to make an announcement if it was false. If it would have been true he and his office were in deep trouble.

The US shouldn't investigate the russian meddling in the election. Everyone knows this. We should simply ignore that the Australian intelligence agency (a known enemy of the U S) informed us of knowledge that our best friends (Russia) had a larger role in meddling than previously thought. The convictions since then are lies from a witch hunt led by a corrupt fbi. I repeat, you're an idiot.

Don't forget the multiple firings & resignations within the "intelligence" communities. This isn't a shot at you, GK, but no one ever brings these up. The more that comes out about Ohr's testimony, the worse it looks for them.

I seldom take replies to me as shots. I’m not that thin skinned. If I was I certainly wouldn’t post my position on global warming and our president on this board with the overwhelming amount of Trump supporters and deniers. I’ve raised the ire of both sides over the years so I certainly don’t post looking for validation. If you disagree (and you really didn’t in this case) let me have it. I just hope that the disagreement is backed by thoughtful and fact based arguments.


I’d be interested in you listing those in the intelligence agencies that you reference for fairness. I know of the two agents (lovers) tweeting obvious anti trump stuff to each other causing dismissal. But What are the resignations and what did they resign for?

That doesn’t change culpability. He admitted to lying about conversations with the Russian Ambassador. Why would he lie to the FBI, something that is a crime, if there wasn’t a reason to do so?

Yep. 13 Russian (names) we assume actually exist, 2 Russian companies? (Huuuuuuge accomplishment), papadupe (already a free man because he had nothing on trump), Flynn (nothing related to trump), manafort( still no collusion). Zwan & Pinedo (who? Sounds like it may be a case of institutional racism)

You would be better off just saying the Buzzfeed article has merit.

The Strzok & Page scenario goes far beyond just two lovers tweeting. Their roles in the investigation were pretty extensive. And Strzok was almost as hellbent on removing Trump as Steele was. The more of Ohr's testimony that comes to light, the more the agencies look petty & vindictive. I would consider Comey's dismissal as a huge step in the right direction to clean up the agency. He admitted to leaking info, was guilty of doing the exact same thing he was investigating Clinton for (& even acknowledged it), the shit he allowed Cheryl Mills to get away with in the investigation was questionably absurd, & drafts show he changed his language drastically on his thoughts about Hillary. I don't think it's a stretch to say he specifically worded his response to the severity so it couldn't come back to bite him for engaging in the same activity. A number of his subordinates have resigned.

McCabe's 86'ing was attributed to him lying about leaking info. Baker's now under investigation for leaking info. There are still questions around Campbell's sudden resignation & immediate hiring by CNN. The list goes on.
