"Western Kentucky: Head coach Jeff Brohm has turned down two interview opportunities this week and is “totally focused on (the C-USA) title game,” according to Scout.com."

I'll be shocked if he stays but if he shows that type of loyalty to the kids and the school, he's gained points in my book.

I wonder if any of these sites post anything more than speculation?

How would they know if he turned down interviews? I doubt he's going to bother telling them.

Didn't Pruett say that same thing just before being discovered in talks with Houston?

These guys all have agents who talk to the press. Plus if he's had 2 recent job interview inquiries, that can be spun to create supply and demand urgency not only for prospective employers but also WKU who I'm sure would like to retain him.

He's not going to announce it. Don't most coaches deny, deny, deny until they're on a plane to their new school?

So true. I think Todd Graham called a team meeting at Pitt after he accepted the gig at Arizona State. While on the private jet headed for Tempe, he sent a group text to his former players at Pitt saying goodbye.

I wouldn't believe anything that guy says. He has to know that would will be a one hit wonder.sure he has his bags packed

Pruett was gone had it not leaked prior to him stepping off the plane

I'm not saying that isn't true it probably is. But why would that stop him? Why did a leak kill the deal, what was so crazy that it had to be done before anybody knew or not done at all ??

It is 100% true. Pruett wanted to inform his team before anyone else knew about it, the leak happened and he took that as mistrust on UH that they leaked it, so he killed the deal.

Bull crap, you have deep pocket AD's calling your agent and your focused on Conference USA? Whatever, and my job caught me on tape stealing boxes trying to build a clubhouse...

Anyone remember the John L Smith/ UL debacle during our bowl game with them. About the most classless mover I have ever witnessed.

Remember well, and it seemed that his team responded with a less spirited game, they wasn't even competitive for most of it.

he will be gone as soon the title game is over. he'd better get out while he
has a chance. he had a 6th year qb in his program - that is not going to happen
again.
we will have johnson back next year and litton is going to be death. he is already
light years ahead of where cato was. in fact he is probably the best true freshman
qb in the country. i know for sure he is way better than rippon at boise. the guy at
ucla was very good but i believe he was a rs frosh.

one thing for sure wvu will not be on our schedule until after litton is gone.

Johnson played in 6 games this year. That is too many to get a medical redshirt. That ship has sailed.

UCLA QB was a true freshman dherd, and we don't get DJ back. You're as wrong on this board as you are on the Pullman daily.

Rosen the QB from UCLA was the #1 recruit in the country last year

Guys, I hate to type this but WKU and Middle will be the our new East Carolina and UCF. They are beating us with no problems!

Guys, let me be clear. The final score may not be indicative of my position, but they (WKU & Middle) have outplayed Marshall this season. In the case of WKU, the last (2) years!

MTSU didn't out play us at all, our kickers missed 5 field goals

yet our head coach didn't go for two on the road for the win in the first OT.....and he knew he had major kicking problems and was yanking the starting kicker that very play. sure, let's extend the game in OT on the road...this should work out well.

Doesn't matter 88, the kicker missed chip shot FGs that he is on scholarship to make. That is his ONLY job and he failed. You cant blame him for that.

Also if we would have went for 2 and failed people would have killed Doc

Fact is we shouldn't have been in a position to worry about that game coming down to a FG. No game ever comes down to just a FG. There is plenty of blame to go around for that loss and that blame includes the coaching staff.

Ehh if we would have hit the 3 field goals in regulation, we wouldn't be talking about this. We aren't going to blow out everyone and the coaches put the players in position to win numerous times and the players failed.

Doc didn't learn anything from Brohm going for two on the road against him did he.

Many would say go for two and the win on the road in that situation anyway...but with a kicking game blowing up and you are yanking your kicker that very play? no one could fault going for the win.

maybe we would have won, maybe we would have lost...but we know what his decision to kick led to. A LOSS

I guess you are correct. The were both on the road in the first OT after the home team had scored.....but it was different as our kicking game was blowing up.

I remember Doc passing a chance to go for the win at ECU in OT, we extended the game and Tali fumbled and we lose. You can't teach an old dog new tricks. But aggressive calls take guts. I think Doc has guts dealing with the roster but not so much on game day or at game plan time

it's different in that when wku did it to us, they had absolutely nothing to lose, nothing to play for other than that one game. they were 6-5, locked in a bowl, eliminated from the east title race.

The game you play to win the game. To win the game!!!

So you go conservative, play not to lose and hope your kickers can make kicks to keep you in the game in overtime when kicking has failed all game long? I would think most people would probably consider that a bad strategy. You have one kicker on the bench missing kicks left and right and now its in his head while you have another kicker that hasnt attempted a field goal or extra point all year long and wasnt good enough to beat out the guy missing all those field goals. Yet, you are going to count on these guys to make extra points and field goals in overtime?

WKU'S new coach i a hotter prospect then Doc. You dont have to hate every coach and qb of any team that beats us. WKU is way ahead of us right now. What about Towles from Ky coming to Marshall for one year.

I don't know about "way ahead of us" but definitely better this year......

BTW: this is how everybody felt playing Marshall with Cato, or Chad or Byron.....great QB's make great teams......Look at UCF last year ....... its hard to replace guys like that, as we saw this year. throw in a few more bad luck injuries and losses and all of the sudden, you aren't great .......but there is ALWAYS next year.

We need to finish strong with another Bowl win
