2 weeks to prepare for a pretty tough WKU team and they have a road game and a short week against us following, hopefully, a more motivated FIU team fighting for bowl eligibility.

Hopefully, some of our players who are banged up can rest up and heal up...I imagine we're gonna throw all we can at them.

I'm not gonna say it was a perfect game, but it certainly was a game where everything seemed to click together. FIU isn't a horrible team either...still bowl eligible if they miraculously win next week. Obviously we were more motivated to win for well known reasons.

So what are some things we can bring forward from the FIU game to this one??

Running game was solid. Only 3 penalties, Special teams were sound and basically mistake free.
All of these are going to be a must against WKU. We can't let them extend drives with penalties and we can't stall out on offense with them either.
The key to beating them is to keep them off the field and out of rythym.

? for the board: WKU is about a 4 1/2, 5 hr drive from Huntington? Early guess on how many we might see @ the game?? Nobody's (most are not) working, the womenfolk left the house @ 3:00 am & won't get back until 8:00pm or later......what's a Herd fan to do?

I think we will see more of a team gelling, continued on from the FIU game, they have plenty of time to rest, get ready mindset and all for WKY. For instance, I thought the OLine finally played like one that is gelling and not completely confused, they did 300% better than any other game this year. I also thought our DLine did a better job controlling the line of scrimmage, even with Samuels out, than another other game, minus Southern Miss. Those two are two of the most important functions of the team and leads to wins or loses.

Now I highly doubt FIU will be competitive with WKY, after a beating like the one they just took, odds are it took a lot of wind they had left out of their sails.

You never know...wku hasn't even recognized the FIU game on their site at one point and are already promoting the CUSA championship game and Marshall.
That sort of oversight, can really motivate a team.

Oh I would love nothing more than FIU to pin a lose on them, I just don't know if they have it in them. Wouldn't surprise me if its close though.
