It would be like a publicly traded corporation whose CEO wasn't respected, a target for lawsuits and an object of constant ridicule. In order to properly serve stock holders, the board would be obligated to replace the CEO.

Hell, tonight Trump tweeted "TREASON?" in response to the letter. Treason to the United States of America? No. Dissent is part of democracy. England's King George probably could get by with a "TREASON?" statement but not the President of the United States.
