$150 a month now to watch TV. Phone and internet's included, but most of it's the TV. They don't budge on the price anymore. No lowering. No pity parties. You either shell out the bucks or read books.

I sure as hell ain't readin' books. That's why in high school I had AP and Honors everything except English. It required summer reading. Fvck that. Bonehead English. The class is bullshit anyway, Shakespeare, etc.

$150 and truth be told, I'd probably pay $500 a month for it. What else is there? The real world is extremely boring and stupid compared to cable TV. Whoever said TV's an idiot box hasn't been out and about. I have and it sucks out there. Idiots walking dogs. Idiots driving. Idiots in the store taking 30 years to pick out a jar of peanut butter.

Cable is like the Scientology of TV. An exclusive club for those who can afford the bill. I'm damn proud to be in. I have to be. It's too expensive not to be.

I do high speed internet ($50/month), sling tv ($20/month, extra $5/month during football season for more sports channels)), Netflix ($8), WWE network ($10), and Hulu ($8). Throw in my digital antenna and I've got it all and well under the $170 lowest tier digital package I had with Comcast.

Where I live it's only comcast or at&t (though the Uverse speed isn't fast enough on all streets around where I live, so really only Comcast).

If I felt like my option was better than the horrible customer service of Comcast I'd consider going back (we used to love Uverse but since we moved can't get fast enough speed ), but honestly I haven't missed cable at all.

Sling TV, driving to the edge of a tornado, etc. is nowhere near as good as sitting here working this remote. And I work the hell out of it. No commercials for me. It's channel flipping time. And these days, prime time TV is better than ever. Sometimes there's 10 things on worth watching. Games, politics, shows about killing.

I really think the shows about killing are what I can't give up. That Investigation Discovery channel. There's some twisted shit on there. I couldn't have even thought of it myself. Whoever hunts down these stories and puts these shows together is a damn genius.
