Yea F that. I went through hops the last few months to be a legal gun owner here in California. Im not giving it up so easy.
Yall might think I am part of the left but I really am not. I believe in the Constitution but I also believe the Government has been and will be in the business of oppressing the people of America and try to turn all of us into sheeple like Extra.
Extragreen I really don’t think it’s a macho thing. I have friends along the whole spectrum of opinion. All of them that own guns would lose their sh/t over a repeal of the second amendment.
I’m not just talking country folks, I’m talking drs, lawyers corporate execs. and all of my friends who were or are in the military are all gun owners and many own several.
Not a chance in hell our military as a whole would pick up arms against our citizenry over repealing the second amendment. It would be an awful day for the US

Fever just single-handedly converted everyone in this thread to support repealing the second. Nobody wants to think about a guy like Fever - intelligence, demeanor, temper-tantrums, and all - having a gun.

It's not always a macho thing. But in many cases, it is. I imagine there were similar things said when talking about abortion, or alcohol prohibition for examples. If the military didn't use arms to do their duty, they all would be breaking the oath they took to protect the U S from domestic enemies. And just so we're clear here, I'm not advocating repeal of the 2nd.

Look into conversion kits for your DE. You can get .44 or 357 if your frame is a 50. If you're using your DE for home defense those lower calibers would be more forgiving, more accurate, and allow for a quicker second shot and target acquisition. Plus, depending on how much you shoot, would be cheaper per round. That being said, buy a smaller gun for self defense lol.

I did the same. I never shoot that bastard. I got mine at an estate sale for 200 so it wasn't a big investment. That's the gun I'll give up if Extra's police force ever searches my house.
What's odd is that if we get to the point in this country where the government is "putting red dots" on the hearts of otherwise law abiding American citizens extra better damn well hope those Americans have the fortitude to not willingly give over their weapons. If we get to that point, those Americans will be the only thing standing between him and tyranny.
Who's out manned, and by whom? The cops? I've spoken about this with numerous cops, both state and local. Not one of them said they'd confiscate. Most admitted they'd search a home and even if there's an AR hanging on the living room wall they didn't see shit.

Exactly. No local cop, at least in his right mind, is going to go door to door looking for guns. What are they going to do? Turn themselves in as well? Think about that. A cop who lives in or near the same neighborhood going to do looking for guns? Heck no.
I'll repeat what I've said. If anything brings about the repeal of the second amendment, the conservative inability to compromise will be it. The people calling for repeal now are just a relatively small number, but that number will swell as long as you believe the second amendment protects your 30 round magazines and semi automatic weapons. There's already been an assault rifle ban in this country along with limits on large capacity magazines. It lasted for 10 years. It was appealed in the courts several times and it survived those appeals. You've been warned.
