It just goes to show that our qb room really is that bad and the coaching staff isn’t much better at recruiting or developing players
After playing like shit and losing 5 games in a row, he finally had a good game.

Nope, an injury to your foot doesn't cause you to make bad reads, have poor field vision and lack many of the basic fundamentals for being a QB1 in FBS. Cam is a very athletic player but would be in a different position than QB for any other college team.
Oh and Cole may not be the answer either. But we needed to try something different. Cam had a solid one half of play last night. 2nd half, not so much.
Both garbage. But let's not forget to point out the glaring differences between the two. One is a freshman with what, 2 1/2 games under his belt? While the other has played ~ 1.5 seasons as a starter.
Wasn't Ark State's defense #12 in the SBC going into the game?
That might tend to help out a QB.
That is true and likely a factor, but can't deny seeing better reads and accuracy in the first half. We didn't attack in the second half so I'm not holding that one against him. His timing was better, too.
Perhaps healing up a couple of weeks allowed him a chance to catch up on the mental side, too. He was much sharper last night than he was in the last few games before he sat out.
Cam is one of those QBs who will have a great game...once in awhile, and if/when he matches up well against the defense. He just isn't this way week in and week out on a consistent enough basis.
