How does this particular game benefit Rice? Outside of the playing a P5 "benefit", who does traveling to the otherside of the world to play one of the top teams in the country benefit Rice?
More costly travel (unless the NCAA helped or Austrailia paid) and got their brians beat in.
They could have taken an L here in the states.
In all honesty I don't see hoe playing in a foreign country benefits any team involved. Notre Dame in Ireland maybe I get, but really. What's the point.
