Charlotte just hired Herb Hand as its offensive line coach. Hand is viewed as one of the best and most experienced O-line coaches in the country. He's spent the past decade at two SEC schools, Penn State, and just left Texas.

You know you are one of the best until your not. Depends who you are and who you know during the hiring cycle.
at least Herb can fall back on his cooking skills

Believe he was at WVU for a while, perhaps with Rich Rod and/or Bill Stewart.

What a name.

Herb Hand was Rich Rod's Defensive Coordinator when RR was at Glenville State. HH was a grad assistant at Clemson in 1999-2000 when RR was the Offensive Coordinator. When RR got the WVU Head Coach job in 2001, HH came with him as Tight Ends coach and Recruiting Coordinator. HH remained at WVU in that capacity thru the 2006 season. When Todd Graham got the Head Coach position at the University of Tulsa in 2007, he hired HH to be his Co-Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line coach, splitting coordinator duties with Gus Malzahn. After Malzahn left to be the Offensive Coordinator at Auburn in 2009, HH was promoted to sole Offensive Coordinator, as well as Assistant Head Coach.

I watched an interesting interview with Jimmy Johnson.
When answering a question about building a CFB for a new coach, he said that the most important hire was the o-line coach.
