-the paint shop was contracted by a subcontractor (not the actual Trump LLC)
-the subcontractor "walked off the job weeks before completion"
-the paint shop filed a "Notice to Owner" at the start of the project to protect their right to file a lien if unpaid
-the "Notice to Owner" was filed against the general contractor, not the Trump LLC
-Trump could have resolved the matter by paying $32,535.87 but chose to fight it in court knowing he would be on the hook for the $200k+ in legal fees if he lost
-Trump agreed to settle several other ongoing suites at the same time this was going on after winning the election. he chose to fight this one
not saying he is right or wrong, but this is another anti-Trump article that forgets to mention all the details

Jesus Christ, did you read the article?
1) It did mention that it was through a subcontractor:
" . . . Trump's lawyers argued that the Paint Spot had technically filed a lien on the wrong subcontractor at Trump Doral."
2) Yes, that is what happens when people don't get paid.
3) Your point? Clearly, the paint shop was aware of cheeto's history of stiffing small businesses who can't afford the legal fees to fight against the scammer, so they were proactive in covering their ass.
4) This was mentioned in detail in the article.
5) This was mentioned in the article. cheeto has a long history of doing this to small business owners. Why pay $32K when you have strong reason to believe that a small business owner won't be able to afford $200,000+ in legal fees? Just stiff them, and they won't be able to afford the legal costs needed to beat you.
6) Wait, cheeto never settles, right? Just ask him. He insisted on that.
So, you claim that this is an anti-cheeto article because it doesn't mention all of the details. You listed six details that you claim it didn't mention. Of those six, the article actually did mention at least three of them. One of your other "details" had no relevancy. Another of the "details" proves cheeto to be a liar, so if an anti-cheeto article like you claim, it seems like that detail would have been added.
As much as I would like Murox and similar posters to come back, I can't honestly urge them to knowing what this place is like now. This place is full of imbeciles. Really, I spend more time having to explain basic reading comprehension errors and faulty, shitty arguments then I do actually debating the issues. This is just another example; it is as bad as the strawman accusation post and Thunder's post from last week where he was fishing for something that didn't exist.
I miss the old days of this place where the cumulative IQ reached three figures.
Trump didn't settle. His company, that he no longer controls, did. I'm not sure the "journalist" who wrote the article understands that.
cheeto has settled dozens of times both before and after his presidency. If you think he still doesn't have ultimate control over his sons running the company . . .
