Simmons had a few games with decent stats last year, but not much else. I’m hoping he’ll be a solid contributor here. Montgomery seems to be a late steal and a good pickup with the offers he held.

Why would we want Americans when we can win with International players?

As an example, if we could recruit a 4 star out of Florida or a 4 star out of North Dakota, which would you choose?

It would be much smarter to get the kid from Florida because he is playing against much better competition. For the record, I’m not saying we need to intentionally not recruit American players. What I’m saying is that we need to recruit the best players possible, regardless of where they live.

With that logic, do you wonder how good track distance runners would be if they were replaced by sprinters?

I coached high school sports and one year the soccer team was scrubbed. Several soccer players came out for football and they competed adequately.
